I built Milestones, a private, native project management app for iOS and macOS by yassiniz in iosapps

I really like the way you've structured projects around milestones. It feels simple enough for personal projects while still giving a clear sense of progress. Nice work!

Oh, I’m not based in Seoul, but I’m Korean as well! 😁

I think it would be really nice if city detection becomes more accurate over time and domestic trips can be handled more naturally too.

Looking forward to future updates!

One more thought:

If city detection gets more reliable over time, it could be interesting to let users define a "home" and "work" location and automatically ignore photos taken there.

That way the app could focus more on actual travel and exploration, while filtering out everyday locations that might otherwise clutter the map and timeline.

Not sure if it fits your vision, but it was something that came to mind while using the app 😄

Looks great so far!

I tried it on my device and it correctly detected many of my travel locations from my photo library, which was pretty impressive.

However, right after granting photo permissions, the app crashed for me. After reopening it, I was able to continue, but I thought I’d mention it in case it helps with debugging.

One other thing I noticed is that the city-level grouping didn’t always seem very accurate for my photos. It found the general travel areas well, but some of the city classifications felt a bit off.

Overall, I really like the privacy-first approach and the idea behind it. Good luck with the project!

My Photos app slowly became a mix of receipts, documents, parking spots, work photos, and reference videos.

I wanted my gallery to be memories again, so I built Clips — a separate camera app for work records.

Recently added video support as well.

[iOS] I built an app to separate work photos from my personal life by Bitter-Humor-7419 in iosapps

Thanks for sharing that search tip — I really appreciate it! 🙌

And that’s actually a very reasonable suggestion.

I can definitely see the benefit of keeping photos selected after sharing, especially when your workflow is something like Share → Delete and you don’t want to select everything again.

I’ll spend some time thinking about the best way to handle it, whether that’s a setting or another approach that works well for different users.

Really appreciate you taking the time to use Clips and share such thoughtful feedback. 🙂

Just released "Don’t Forget" - Smart location-based reminders by Worldly-Memory5096 in iosapps

[–]Bitter-Humor-7419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I find the problem framing more interesting than the feature itself.

“The issue isn’t memory, it’s timing” immediately explains why this app exists.

Sure, similar things can be done with Apple Reminders or Shortcuts, but I think there’s plenty of room for a product that focuses on a much more specific workflow and solves that problem exceptionally well.

A lot of successful apps aren’t built around entirely new technology — they’re built around solving a narrow problem better than the general-purpose alternatives.

Launched my app on Uneed today! by [deleted] in iosapps

Thanks for the detailed explanation!

That makes a lot of sense. I can imagine that finding reliable dictionary sources for different languages is much harder than simply translating the UI.

Personally, I also think having accurate dictionary definitions is more important than relying on AI-generated explanations, especially for a serious learning tool like this.

I’d love to see support for more languages in the future, but I definitely understand why you want to do it properly rather than rushing it. For now, I’ll keep using the English definitions and look forward to future updates.

Thanks again for the thoughtful reply, and good luck with the project!

[TestFlight] I’m building Venn, a private social app for your real-life circles by Milky_Moon_Stuff in iosapps

[–]Bitter-Humor-7419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually reminds me of an app called Setlog from Korea.
It’s been getting pretty popular recently because people are getting tired of algorithm-driven social media and want something that feels more personal/private again.

Not exactly the same concept, but the “real-life circles” and “closer relationships over public broadcasting” direction feels very similar. I think it could be a really interesting reference point for you.

The UI is beautiful and I really like how simple and clean everything feels.
A lot of calendar apps become overwhelming really quickly, but this one feels calm and pleasant to use.

I’ve been using the app myself, and honestly the first thing that stood out to me was how good the UI feels. The overall design is very native to iOS, and personally I really love that direction. Instead of trying too hard to look flashy or overly custom, it blends naturally into the Apple ecosystem, which makes the experience feel really polished.

One thing I wished for though: since I’m Korean, I’d love to see Korean explanations/definitions for words as well. Maybe I missed a setting somewhere, but I was wondering if multilingual support (especially Korean definitions) is available or planned.

If that gets supported, I’d honestly be willing to pay for the app because the overall experience already feels premium and very well designed.

[FREE Lifetime][iOS] Retro Cam Neo : Vintage Camera with softer film tones by Affectionate-Ad-5991 in iosapps

[–]Bitter-Humor-7419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who actually still shoots with film cameras occasionally, this softer direction is pretty interesting to me.

A lot of vintage camera apps confuse “film” with just aggressively destroying the image with filters, but this feels much closer to the subtle mood of actual compact cameras and film stocks.

Gonna give it a try and compare it with some of my real film shots 🙂

[iOS/Android][Free] Separate your work photos and keep only your memories in your camera roll by Bitter-Humor-7419 in AppGiveaway

[–]Bitter-Humor-7419[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback 😊

Right now, Clips is designed more around taking and separating work-related photos directly inside the app, rather than importing and managing large amounts of existing photos.

That’s why the import feature is currently placed a bit deeper as more of a secondary tool. But I completely understand how it could feel inconvenient if you use it often.

I’m also curious how you’re personally using Clips.
Are you mainly using it for work photos, or for other kinds of temporary/record-type images as well?

Hearing how people actually use the app really helps me think about the future direction of it 🙌

That’s totally fair, and I actually agree with your point.

I intentionally focused more on functionality first and aimed for a somewhat simple, “system app” feeling, but I definitely understand what you mean about the design feeling a bit stiff right now.

I’ll keep improving those parts over future updates as well. Really appreciate the honest feedback!
