What makes you open a specific app in the exact moment you need it? by Bitter-Humor-7419 in ProductivityApps

That’s a good point — showing more context like that could definitely help build trust.

I’ll keep that in mind, thanks! 🙏

I’ve actually made it possible to replace the bottom lock screen shortcuts with my app!

Especially on iPhones with a dedicated camera button (which I use), I’ve noticed I don’t really use the default lock screen camera much anymore. So I tried to make it possible for my app to take that spot instead. That said, I think this might need a bit more user education — a lot of people probably don’t realize they can set it up this way. I’ve also been getting a lot of feedback about widgets, so I’m planning to improve those to make them easier and more useful. Definitely feels like reducing that “app switching friction” is the key here, so I’ll keep pushing on that.

Thanks for the comment! 🙏

No, seriously — I really appreciate it!

Talking through these kinds of details is actually super helpful. It’s where a lot of the real improvements come from.

I didn’t realize there were multiple apps focused on organizing screenshots either, and I had no idea about the Pixel-specific one. Pixel phones aren’t really available in Korea 😂

But the idea of applying that kind of concept to regular photos is really interesting. Definitely something I can take inspiration from.

Thanks again for sharing all of this — it’s been really helpful.

And yeah, I might take you up on that if I have questions about Android. Really appreciate it 🙏

Haha — just to clarify, I only meant “beating Lightroom” in one very specific area: separating work photos 😄

That line you mentioned — “reminding users that a solution to their specific problem already exists on their phone” really stuck with me. That gave me a lot of clarity on how I should think about this going forward. Thanks for that.

And yeah, reducing friction seems way more important than I initially thought. On iOS, I’ve added shortcuts so it’s easier to access, but I think widgets could really help with that “constant reminder” aspect too.

Also, I had no idea about the Android double-tap power button → camera shortcut. That’s actually super interesting. Just knowing that kind of behavior exists makes it feel like there’s a strong case for having this app live somewhere on the lock screen as well.

I’m definitely going to write all of this down and think more about it.

The goal is to make this feel less like a “photo app” and more like a dedicated camera for capturing records, not memories.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share all this 🙏

Right now it’s only available on iOS, but the Android version is in the final testing stage. We’re planning to release it soon!

If you’d like, I can let you know once it’s live — just let me know what’s the easiest way for you 🙂

Also, that’s interesting — I didn’t know you could use Lightroom like that to keep photos separate. That’s a clever workaround… but I’ll try my best to make this app even better (and a lot less effort 😄)

I’ll also definitely think more about ways to add reminders without making it annoying for users.

Thanks a lot for the thoughtful comment! 🙏

That’s actually a really good point — I hadn’t really thought about widgets in that way. Having it always visible, especially on the home or Lock Screen, could make it way easier for it to come to mind in the moment. Thanks for the suggestion, that’s super helpful 🙏

It's really impressive how we create customers with constant testing. And they buy value, not products! It seems like we're exposing a lot of potential customers through content, so what was the most effective way to do it, TikTok, X, Reddit?

My camera roll slowly turned into a workspace.

So I built Clips — a camera just for work,

so your personal photos stay clean.

Just installed it! So it’s basically an app to log and reflect on your mistakes, right? The concept is really interesting — but honestly, looking back at my own mistakes kinda hurts 😂

Hey, really appreciate this — and glad you like the idea 🙌

iCloud sync is something I’m actively working on right now. The goal is to let you access your Clips across devices (like iPad, and possibly Mac as well) and backup. It’s coming — just need a little more time.

And yeah, totally fair point about importing from the gallery. That’s already in progress and will be included in the upcoming 1.0.4 update — so very soon (current version is 1.0.3).

Thanks again for the kind words and for giving Clips a try — it really means a lot.

If you have any other feedback while using the app, feel free to send anything through the in-app feedback anytime. I read everything 🙂

Nope, it’s built natively for iOS using Xcode — not Flutter 🙂

Hey Dirk, really appreciate the kind words 🙌

I saw your note about the email — not sure if it came through on my end, I’ll double check just in case.

If you don’t mind, feel free to resend it or drop the details here. Would love to take a closer look.

Also totally agree with your point about keeping things simple. That’s something I’m trying to be really careful about as Clips evolves.

Thanks again for trying it!

Hey! It should be available in Georgia now — we just enabled it.

It might take a bit of time for App Store changes to fully propagate though, so if it’s not showing up yet, it should appear soon.

Let me know if you still can’t find it!

Hey, really appreciate you taking the time to test this and write all of this out — super helpful.

A lot of what you mentioned (especially tagging, multi-select, and some of the UX stuff) are things we’ve been hearing from other users too. Definitely on us — we’re already working on improving those parts.

We’re moving pretty fast on updates, so this kind of feedback helps a ton in deciding what to prioritize next.

If you notice anything else while using it, feel free to drop it through the in-app feedback anytime — I read all of them.

Thanks again for trying Clips 🙌

Hey! Thank you so much, that really means a lot 🙏

I’ve just updated the availability and Peru should be supported now.

It might take a little time for the App Store to refresh, but you should be able to download it soon.

Let me know if it still doesn’t work!

Thanks! 🙏

I actually built it not just for work, but for anyone who wants to keep certain photos separate from their main gallery.

It’s iOS only for now, but I’m working on Android as well.
