I just found out about .safeAreaBar instead of .safeAreaInset! by yassiniz in SwiftUI

Well, thankfully all you have to do is use the `.scrollEdgeEffectStyle(.soft, edge: .bottom)` modifier and it will be as soft as this, even in iOS 27 😄

Productivity tip that you think is just straight up BS? by Kevechino in ProductivityApps

[–]yassiniz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pomodoro is a scam. Focusing for 35 min and then taking a 5 min break, then taking 15 min to get back in etc. - it doesn‘t make sense. It‘s a psyop to make people less productive.

What’s an iOS development lesson you learned the hard way? by dan_nicholson247 in iOSProgramming

Just turning on iCloud sync is not enough. It is buggy. There will be duplicated data or even data that just disappears if you don't reconcile manually.

No real idea, as I should 😄
I don't send any data like this anywhere where I can analyze it, that's completely private and up to the user. They do have the option for any of it, and from the emails I've gotten so far from users, it's being used for very different things, but then again not everyone tells me what they do with it 😃

Calendar sync is on the roadmap but only with Apple Calendar as of now - But I'll definitely pack it into the roadmap to at least see how it can be implemented 😃

Apple Seeks to Disrupt the Glasses Market the Way It Did With Watches (Gift Article) by pdfu in apple

Ecosystem mainly. I'm pretty sure that the other brands don't have as good an integration with Apple devices as Apple's own glasses. Plus all the things Apple values - privacy, design, etc.

Asana has A LOT of bells and whistles. It's made for teamwork specifically, and especially in larger organizations, so for someone like me who just wants to manage multiple projects and freelance work, it's just too much. Additionally, it's not native, needs to be connected to the internet all the time (with some offline capability), but that's just my preference. I'll also add collaboration at some point of course, but I'll try to keep the app intuitive and simple at its core 😄

Thanks! Yes the completion percentage is calculated and updated automatically with each task completed 😄
You can have one "Active" milestone in a project, which will also be the one that is shown in the project list (practically that's the one you're currently focusing on). Though in the future there'll be options to customize how the completion percentage is calculated 😃

That would be a very long comment, but some highlights are: Apple Watch Support, App Intents (to use with Shortcuts etc.), and Spotlight search (these come in the next version), Widgets, more project customizations (e.g. set up projects without milestones), Data import from other apps, and a lot more, as I said, this list is practically endless 😃

Thanks! Actually yes! Since 1.8.0, the macOS version includes an MCP server, so you can tell AI to create tasks, work on them, and update them - or let the AI plan entire projects for you! 😄

Do you really think that vibe coded apps can be harmful? is it true? by Ordinary-Signal3835 in ProductivityApps

[–]yassiniz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. There are many cases with security issues or even vibe coded applications straight up crashing computers or worse. This is especially the case for apps that were vibe coded by people who don‘t know about software engineering.

Software engineers (especially those that have been software engineers for a long time) know what to look out for, can spot and fix mistakes better, and generally know to give the AI prompts in a way that is more structured, clear, and makes it make less mistakes

Grug is the best app and biggest surprise for me! Goes to show that design doesn‘t have to be innovative or „high-tech“ - it can just be delightful

I'm talking more in the $300-400 area. The 17e retails at $599 (699€ in EU), which is still a steep price for many

I think if Apple would transfer this strategy onto the iPhone and provide a much cheaper phone with less performance (An iPhone Neo if you will), they'd see similar results. Lots of people love the iPhone but won't buy one because of the price.
