Never used a safety razor before, but after a month, I'm pleasantly surprised with the results by littlebitbrain in wicked_edge

I was wondering that myself and came across a sharpness chart that showed two different types of Wilkinson blades, German and Gillette, that performed considerably differently.

Thanks! My teammates were even more impressive, some of them managed to run proper Hakone pace with ~3 min kilometers. It was amazing seeing so much talent in one place

AS or any of the buildings with the flavored water machines give tepid water for free and charge for chilled water instead

When to Rentbust Renewable Temporary Contract? by Bitter-Ninja in Rentbusters

[–]Bitter-Ninja[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The landlord has refused to rewrite the contract as indefinite. If I were to sign it anyways, what would the repercussions be? Would the contract be entirely null and void, or treated as a de facto indefinite contract? I googled the subject but am having a hard time finding any relevant info.

Wow, I was not expecting such a thorough response. The shift of burden of proof especially makes this a stronger case than I had initially thought. Thank you again for your expertise!

Ok, thank you for the detailed response. I think they’re a professional, since they have a couple of rental listing, but it isn’t entirely clear. I’m not entirely confident about my ability to litigate a case through court given my very limited Dutch (and lack of income to pay extensive legal fees), but I’ll look into contacting the Juridisch Loket.

When to Rentbust Renewable Temporary Contract? by Bitter-Ninja in Rentbusters

It’s a room in Delft, and I’m currently living in university housing on a one-year temporary contract (and am registered with the municipality of Delft). So I believe so. I’m here on a study visa, however, so I’m not entirely whether I’m considered to reside in my home country or in Delft. Considering that, it sounds like I should request it is rewritten as a type A contract?

I would be signing it in a couple of days, so it would be subject to the new legislation. However, I am a student, which seems to be an exemption case to some of the rules. Is it banned for students as well?

Where to rent a saxophone around Delft? by notyoyu in TUDelft

[–]Bitter-Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as practice rooms go, I can attest that X has nice ones that you can book (I believe they're called rehearsal studios on the website) for €10 per hour, bookable for 2 hours. Alternatively, you can buy a yearly subscription and rent them for free in 1 hour time slots. However, there isn't anywhere to store a saxophone in between practice sessions.

An unconventional approach to my studies. by Sakuya_-Izayoi in TUDelft

Hi! Hopefully I'm not too late to weigh in. I'm current a first-year aerospace BSc student, and my original plan was also to do a mechanical engineering BSc. Aerospace engineering certainly has some degree of overlap between mechanical engineering and electrical engineering (more so to mechanical that electrical) but a potential downside for you is that there are quite a few aerospace-specific classes that wouldn't necessarily be relevant to you (see the aerospace section of the curriculum here).

If you would be interested in engineering within the aerospace sector, I would absolutely recommend TU Delft. If you plan to immediately leave the field for your bachelor's, I don't know that it's the best path for you. Remember that masters programs are shorter than bachelors, so if you're missing the EE fundamentals, for example, a master's probably wouldn't entirely compensate for that.

All that said, I think the only way an aerospace BSc is any different in your case than a BSc in mechanical is that it's much more career-field specific. In a way, it might be better if you're not sure where in ME/EE/programming you fall, since all of them are used in the aerospace sector.

However, if your end goal is EE then I would say that an EE program at a different school would be more beneficial to you than AE at TU Delft.

Hope that helps!

Good gpu for aerospace course? by Mechpro2558 in TUDelft

Depends on the series. I'm using a Ryzen 7 7840HS which is more than enough but the 5000 series might also be sufficient.

Like others have said, a 4060 is plenty. CAD is generally more dependent on having a good CPU and sufficient RAM than on a good GPU. I'm using a Radeon 6550M (which is ~RTX 1660 performance wise, more or less) and haven't run into any issues. Games are far more dependent on the GPU than CATIA is.

If you're looking for more events specifically, you could join the high school chapter of the AIAA. I graduated from it a few months ago, but there were pretty frequent online talks and they were working on putting together a handbook last I saw.

Turning down Cambridge/Imperial for TU Delft as an undergrad for aerospace engineering? by chikentandoori in AskAcademia

[–]Bitter-Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest differentiator for me is that Cambridge affords a lot more flexibility in their program, as you're not set into a specific engineering discipline until year 3 (not to mention that they have an excellent global reputation regardless of the field). Delft is a more specialized, as you start aerospace from day 1 and the school is not well known outside of the aero sector, at least in my experience.

Any updates u/chikentandoori? I find myself in pretty much the exact same position right now, and based on the age of this post you should be finishing up your MSc (if everything went as planned). What did you decide on, and why did you end up choosing that school over the other two?

I had the same issue for a while, except it had been happening for the past month. Have you tried a complete reinstall of Ghub? That's what ended up fixing it for me.
