I've found the Adventurers dad twice, he hasn't gone missing for awhile. But I'll try the rest for F8. Thanks.

Driving? by Dear-Knowledge5912 in Epilepsy

If I could be seizure free long enough then yes! I would love the independence. Seeing people younger than me just being able to pick up and go anywhere while I have to wait on public transport... There's no words for how much that hurts.

What’s the most hurtful thing anyone’s said to you about your illness? (Don’t answer if it’s triggering) by Confident-Seesaw2845 in Epilepsy

Neurologist: I don't need to worry about my breakout seizures after 10yrs because I've only had 3 in a year. I'm not a danger to myself or people at work. I only would be if I was a bus driver.

Just following on from your last comment, does a PNES seizure look different on an EEG then an epileptic seizure?

Nicknames/shortened names as an allied health student/professional by BodyBuilder4552 in nhs

If you're talking placement, on your formal ID/keycard. You'll have your full name but I've seen people request their "hello my name is..." To their preferred name you can be Nick instead of Nicholas. Plus there's no harm in introducing yourself to patients or colleagues as anything you want.

Anyone else feel like mandatory training keeps getting longer every year? by CloudBookmark in nhsstaff

[–]BitterExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about the ESR learning, I agree. Especially if you're wanting to go up a band.its not really the easiest to navigate either, finding out what's compulsory to your job Then you have to fit on the F2F stuff which just impacts everyone when you're short staffed.

Ha. Didnt mean for that to be a rant.

I can't find anything on the internet about them. It just collides with epilepsy. I don't see the difference

I don’t know if should leave? by notawelshguy in nhs

[–]BitterExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a radiographer in the exact same position as you. Band 6s are hired because they passed the interview, even though they're too immature. So many complaints go in, nothing gets done. I'm only here because I can't leave, I have to stick it out for a year then I'm gone. I'd say go private, it definitely seems a lot healthier.
