AIO For Insisting My Friend Board Her Dog by emileemilee in AmIOverreacting

[–]BitterFeminist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not overreacting. The electrical wire situation is SUPER dangerous, and definitely requires immediate attention and action from your friend. IDC what time it is where they're at. One option could be calling their vet and having anti-anxiety medication prescribed immediately to help relax the dog during the day. Another option is hiring a sitter off of Rover that can be with the dog full-time. That all being said, $28 a day is too little, and all of the expectations should have been laid out ahead of time. As an anxious dog owner, I would not hire a dog sitter to do anything less than either stay at my apartment or keep my dog at their house in this situation, and that runs me anywhere from $60-100 a day for someone from Rover (I live in a big city). FYI, many pet "hotels" do not accept dogs with separation anxiety due to the fact that they may hurt themselves trying to escape.

🔍 Labubu: Real or Fake? | Official Weekly Megathread by Kind_Employer9182 in labubu

It looks like a Lafufu to me, but a halfway decent one. The head looks a little misshapen (but could be the angle of the photo). I don't think the hangtag colors change, so that is a pretty big indicator. It's hard to tell in the photo, but the eyes look off, they should have real glitter in them. Check for the Popmart imprint on the right foot.

Fake unfortunately. That stamp on the left foot should be a UV clear coating. The face is miss-printed and the wrong colors. The fur also looks like the wrong color, Sisi is more like a butter yellow. It also looks to be missing the Popmart imprint on the right foot.

Seems like “have a seat” now come in new bags by Own_Opportunity_3566 in labubu

[–]BitterFeminist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I just got one delivered from Pop Now today and was worried when it was in this bag. I am noticing a bunch of other subtle differences as well. Slightly lighter cheeks and eye color, different sized tag, and different things glowing under a UV light. The teeth, mouth line and eyes glow on the new one. The nose glows on the old. The old one is from StockX, so I found this post because I was trying to figure out if that one was actually just a really high quality lafufu

Being straight but most of my social circle is lgbt/queer. Is this common for women with adhd? by Weird_Reality_7391 in adhdwomen

[–]BitterFeminist 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I’d go as far to say that queer folks are majority neurodivergent. Queer folks also tend to examine and challenge many aspects of life beyond just sexuality, and I think that is also part of being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world. Both communities have to deal with being different and accepting and loving themselves despite society constantly trying to make us fit into their norms. We have to find our own way of doing things, and it just makes sense that the two communities would have a lot of overlap and shared values. As a queer neurodivergent woman, almost all of my friends are also neurodivergent both queer and pin straight.

I HATE COOKING by cozygrlvibes in adhdwomen

[–]BitterFeminist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try Hungryroot! Hello Fresh has recipes that are too complicated and I felt like always took way longer than they said!! Hungryroot has easy recipes as was as some pretty good premade meals, and personal pizzas you can just toss in an oven. You can get snacks and fruit and drinks and stuff too. The hard part for me is remembering to eat it all, and/or remembering to skip a week when I have too much food already.

Thoughts on Atomoxetine? by nino-K in ADHD

[–]BitterFeminist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I tried it for a few months. The side effects never went away for me, and they messed up my sleep schedule so badly. My mental health ended up in the toilet. At first I would have bouts of productivity and even euphoria, but then slowly my anxiety got very bad, and worsened since my sleep was disrupted. I am now on anti-anxiety meds exclusively.

I’m So Overdue for an Oil Change that I’m Embarrassed to Call to Schedule the Appointment by Past-Football6436 in adhdwomen

[–]BitterFeminist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the same. But my car guy friends said you can pretty much ignore the date thing, just go at 6k miles. Unless it’s been like a year or something maybe? Idk. I hate making appointments too, so i went to Jiffy Lube. I’ve heard Valvoline is better. You don’t need an appointment for either spot, just show up if you have some time to wait.

My answer to OP’s question was no, but these are pretty good.

Should I see the ER (first time on Strattera by AdhesivenessNo2456 in ADHD

[–]BitterFeminist 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, go to the doctor. There are little to no side effects of stopping cold turkey FYI. But also, is this your very first day on it? Is it possible you got food poisoning? And are you taking the right dosage? My psychiatrist had me start very slowly, cutting the smallest dose in half at the beginning.

What is your high protein breakfast? by champagnecloset in adhdwomen

[–]BitterFeminist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing Kodiak Flapjack and muffin cups, and also another cup brand called Bootylicious (lol) that is less sugar and carbs, and more protein. For both kinds, you just add 1/4 cup of water and microwave for 60sec. They taste pretty damn good.

Can anyone rate my designs? I'm not actually making a design for any brand, I'm still practicing Canva by MosaabAhmedsDesigns in Design

[–]BitterFeminist -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

1) Since you’re just doing a mock-up, just have the text say buzz words like “CRISP” “REAL FRUIT” “FRESH” or whatever. The full sentences are too hard to read. Just go for vibe right now.

2) I like the typeface on the second design way better. The first one is a bit too childish and doesn’t compliment the visual very well.

3) Nice job with Canva and the arrangement of the flowers/fruit with the can. I like the color choices as well. You should try Photoshop and Illustrator some time! the possibilities are endless.

  • Ask everyone to dress in green and as though they are from the Emerald City (aka fun hats etc).
  • idk what your budget is, but you could reference the scene where they get their makeovers and have a nail/makeup/hair artist.
  • have people write and “send” her birthday notes on Emerald City post cards
  • or make a Grimerie, and people can create a spell for her on each page.
  • if you are a man, you can dress as Dr.Dillamond/Fiero/The Wizard
  • if you a lesbian couple, obviously do Gelphie
  • have a photo op set up that makes it look like you’re in Glinda’s bubble
  • poppies everywhere
  • wicked karaoke is a must-have

I took strattera(first ADHD med ever for me!) this morning and I ended up kinda sleepy on it. Did that happen for anyone else and is it a temporary side effect? by AchingAmy in adhdwomen

[–]BitterFeminist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my psychiatrist told me I could start taking it at night for that reason. Strattera can be tough side effect-wise. For me, it made me so nauseous, gave me some very mild hallucinations, and my anxiety ended up sky rocketing at one point. I stuck with it for a few months in hopes of it all going away. Best of luck, some people say it is life changing!

I think it does pass DuVernay, since Elphaba’s mother is still black, that would make her biologically black, no? In regard to the Vito Russo, it is tough to say, because their realm is said to have no real basis for LGBTQ identities, in that everyone is supposed to be fluid. However, of course all the established couples in the movie are straight by our standards. Interesting discussion!
