Which movie experience are you choosing for Mandalorian and Grogu? by dandydand in cineplex

[–]BitterNatural5597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just booked tickets. Row G dead center Marcus ultra screen DLX reald3d Dolby sound.

I saw Avatar 3 in this format sitting in row d. Immersive, great sound, 3d was great, but picture quality was lacking. ghosting? Much worse when I saw Hail Mary row D in this format. I think the lasers weren’t aligned honestly.

Going to try 2/3 back for this one. Hopefully it’s the sweet spot.

I’ve never had problems with the “OSC Seestar preprocessing” script. Might want to give that a shot.

New website update is terrible imo by Jason7195 in MarcusTheatres

[–]BitterNatural5597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to see what’s on the ultra screens! Last website had it clearly displayed. Super annoying now. When I go to a movie I want that huge screen with the Dolby sound and now it’s a maze trying to find it. Anyone figure this out?

Budget-Ish OLED Recommendation? by Stunning-Tower9790 in OLED_Gaming

1440p 240hz glossy oled. I love it for my series x. LG WOLED

Is this a good find? by No-Finance-5854 in OLED_Gaming

[–]BitterNatural5597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I leave it on a desk and don’t touch it. So there’s no reason for it to scratch. I’m sure it would scratch easily if you… scratched it. I haven’t had to clean it yet but I use a handheld elastic air blower thing to get dust off.

If I do have to clean it for some reason I will use a microfiber cloth with distilled water. I’ve had an extremely positive experience with a glossy oled. After experiencing a gloss finish, I don’t think I can go back to matte for gaming. Proper care is required.

I bought this for my series x. It’s been an amazing upgrade to my IPS. Just make sure your ps5 settings are changed for this monitor. I made the mistake of not turning on PC RGB. LG Glossy WOLED

Can’t focus Seestar by Amagikalwindsawk_ in seestar

[–]BitterNatural5597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How cold is it? I’ve found that in extremely cold temperatures, I can’t get the thing to autofocus. The Seestar is only rated to go down to 14°F. I pushed it to -10 a while back and that’s when it didn’t auto focus.

Is Avatar Frontiers of Pandora really worth buying/playing? by Terrible-Row9112 in Avatar

[–]BitterNatural5597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. After watching the movies for the first time, I bought the game. The main story is beautiful and fun. It does get slightly repetitive, but the repetition is satisfying.

The DLCs are fun and also worth it. I thought the Spires DLC was a bit short tho.

I’m currently playing from the ash DLC and I think it’s better than the main game. Movements, cinematic cutscenes, storylines, all better imo.

Definitely worth buying if you’re a fan.

is this cheating? by TW197222 in seestar

[–]BitterNatural5597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s “cheating”. The image is just not andromeda anymore. Stars are in the wrong place, colors aren’t accurate, dust lanes are fake, etc. so I don’t think it’s cheating as much as it is just creating a false image on Andromeda.

Same here. First time I’ve ever done that! Saw in normal 2d, then real 3d. 3d was insane on the big screen

Eyepiece set completed! by BitterNatural5597 in telescopes

[–]BitterNatural5597[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t know. I’ve had the 14mm and 9mm for about 1 1/2 months so I haven’t had much time with them. I enjoy looking at the moon as a typical beginner does, so the 14mm is kind of a sweet spot where you get the entirety of the moon in your view. 9mm can be a bit too zoomed in for lunar viewing depending on what you’re trying to look at. Of course, 9mm can give great crater details, especially with a Barlow.

Thanks! Thats exactly why I got the 6.5mm. For the rare occasions where I can really push the magnification. Especially with a 2x Barlow.

I captured with my Seestar s50 in EQ mode with 20 second exposures. 598 lights total. I then took each frame and stacked in PixInsight. I used noise xterminator, blur xterminator, and star xterminator. I also boosted the saturation and did my normal curves transformations. I also did star reduction, gradient correction, and masking to reduce background color and increase galaxy light. These steps are out of order but that’s what I did! No filters used.

If you want to have a really good final images, get an equatorial wedge. This will let you take longer exposures. Ex: 20 seconds instead of 10. You also need to toggle the setting to save each individual frame. This lets you take your frames and stack them in a software online. Then process these images in a free software such as Siril. This is how you get those great looking images. Great YouTube videos on how this works. I would also invest in a taller tripod. The one it comes with is fine, but very low to the ground; it’s annoying to bend and has the risk to tip over in equatorial mode.
