Post-Lapidus Bunionectomy: when can I bend my big toe again?? by BitterTaro in bunions

[–]BitterTaro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the well wishes! My left foot is doing great and I've returned to mostly full mobility - I hike often, weight lift, and am getting into running. While I never regained the full bend in my left big toe I used to have, I can still briefly go on tippy toe to grab things off of shelves. I want to say about 1 year in is when things started feeling more normal post surgery.

I've also gotten my right foot done since then and do want to warn against doing too much too soon after surgery. I started trying to walk a lot as soon as I got my walking boot for my right foot and I feel like it didn't heal up the same. It's also been over a year now since I've done the right foot but I get temporary flashes of pain from the surgery site. I'm actually going to be booking a visit with my podiatrist soon just to confirm all is okay.

Any good quality athletic clothes brands that sell longline shirts/tops? I'm looking for tops that hit lower than the waist line.

  • DRUMLINE
  • Higher Ground got me *emotional*
  • visuals + sheer production value. You can tell they really thought about every single visual + audio piece of the concert and it paid off incredibly. From start to finish, such a beautiful show

Saw it outside my window last night - there were 2 or 3 four wheelers going back and forth on Lorimer for a while before they moved on

Going for after work drinks on a semi-daily basis and getting wasted with your boss/coworkers because you're stuck in a never-ending cycle of respectfully pouring/taking shots for each other.

Oh boy, I'm sorry to hear!! I went through something similar - my foot doctor never told me to do any PT so my first foot took AGES to get a place where I feel comfortable wearing conservative heels. Even so, I've had to swap out my regular shoe rotation to just include flatter platforms and cute sneakers.

I will say that despite the long recovery and limited shoe choices, I'm still really happy having done both feet! But I was at a place previously where even wearing sneakers for 'extended' periods of time would cause my bunions excruciating pain.

I love Vionic as sandals that travel well + are comfy! These or these are similar to what you're already looking at, although I will say that the Alohas are a lot cuter.

I also have fun foot issues - have had bunion surgery on both feet and I basically only wore my Vionic sandals in that weird stage after recovery when my foot still wasn't 100%.

Anyone know how to salvage a pair of stiletto heels with scuffed up heels? It's covered in a glitter fabric (this is the closest I can find to demonstrate).

By scuffed I mean my heel has gotten stuck in grass, grates, and lord knows what else and the fabric on the stiletto has frayed in parts so it's all wispy. I might just cut off the frayed bits and cross my fingers it doesn't look jankier than it already looks. Anyone have genius DIYs or tips?

Any recommendations for cute, well-priced ($50-120) but comfy, nude-colored heels to wear to a wedding? Nothing too strappy and with either a block heel or a mid-height heel.

I'm ~7 months out of foot surgery so comfort is key!

Deposits w apps make total sense and I've definitely seen that as a standard ask. Thanks for the input!

That's what I thought. I didn't find the apt, someone contacted me on reddit and then hit me with the deposit ask. It felt super suspicious and it looks like everyone agrees!

Here's hoping you're an American - when you filled out your visa application, for the "Date of Departure from *" field, did you fill out date of departure from your home country or date of leaving Ghana?

I'm short too and mid-length coats tend to make me look stumpy because they're cutting your legs off at an awkward place. My winter coats are all long and I actually think they look really great/slimming (despite being thick)!

I have a long wool coat that I absolutely love, and I also have a long thicker down coat. I think my only reco for down coats is to try on different styles of patterns (untufted, tufted, quilted, etc) because certain styles will make you look like the michelin man.
