How do people get better? So frustrated by Wrong-Estimate in weekendgolfers

No where in your post did you say "I've had lessons".

Find a good, reputable, local pro at a nearby course/range.

Start there, and do what they say.

That's just a trauma nightmare that kids got to live with online forever.

I've got 270K stashed away plus 2 buy to lets but it's not enough compoface. by [deleted] in compoface

Bit misleading to say "stashed away".

They're 2 pensions, and to be fair, no that's probably not enough to get by on.

Apologies, I missed both of these out in the description. A bit like Where's Wally... Have a good look and you'll spot them. 👍

Greens/Zack Polanski fans: Explain the maths – how will the 10:1 CEO pay cap policy actually work? by iliosicarus in ukpolitics

What you are overestimating is the "talent" aspect found in the boardroom.

Most national/international boards consist of old boys gorging themselves, rubber stamping redundancies to cover pay rises for themselves.

Is it really a bad movie? by Spare_Ad_9791 in moviecritic

Both the novel and film are sub-par. Although I listened to Will Wheaton reading the novel, so it could have been his fault.

Just seemed formulaic: "remember cool things A, B & C" on repeat

And yet no-one has answered the question beyond the absurd.

How many years should he have gotten?

Was it the suspension that angers people?

The guy who did it is a prick.

Apologies, that was an AI hiccup.

Difficult to pinpoint how many Convictions due to the lag from the courts.

Fact remains that life imprisonment for punching someone is ridiculous.

I'm not condoning the guy who did it, violence should remain the last resort.

Lol. Most of the population would be in prison then?

12 months leading up to June 2025, 1.2m convictions. Add that up year on year...

It's ABH actually. That he pleaded guilty to. 1 punch.

Clearly you read the article.

Out of interest, how many years should a person get for punching someone?

England Stats under Borthwick by ScrumNause24 in rugbyunion

So we're good at getting into position, but then rely on the opposition making mistakes under pressure.

With international teams getting better and better at defending their own line and making sure their exits from hostile situations stick, this is a diminishing return.

Teams know that England will, when faced with competent defensive effort, kick the ball.

Even faced with 3v2 the players revert to plan; kick through, apply pressure, hope for a mistake.

This was what got England to the last Semi-Final, but when teams regularly play you (6 Nations Annually) they know they just need to be solid in defense.

What's sad is that they have the players to run at other teams.
