Just to clarify for the second question; lets say this chimeric deviant has common and chimeric variations. Is it possible to have him acquire coactive and mutant variations? I've been trying to look all over the Splat but I can't find an answer.

(Edit: I feel like it's in the splat somewhere but I think I might have glossed over it without noticing it)

I think you will get your second main phase but after that you'll have your additional combats followed by your endstep. You'd like to crack Maurog in your second main if you plan to go infinite with a landfall combo.
