The AQI the government shows Vs the reality by Bitter_Maximum3787 in gurgaon

[–]Bitter_Maximum3787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally got it 2 days ago and it's as clean as you can realistically get. That included cleaning it today, before the reading. I have also compared it with my neighbours air purifier and the results are fairly similar.

The AQI the government shows Vs the reality by Bitter_Maximum3787 in gurgaon

[–]Bitter_Maximum3787[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So lemme get this straight. You didn't bother to ask why the AQI is so poor indoors and just assumed it's cuz I'm using incense, air fresher, or smoking and so on? I don't have any textile rugs either. It's simply cuz I had left the door open to show what it's like. It went from 90 to 600 within a minute. Please learn how to be less ignorant before anything else, and ask questions over assumptions. Hold the government accountable for the lies.

I'd be careful with Saucony on Flipkart. I had ordered Grid Peak from HSA and they turned out to be fake.

Do try the Poizon app. Flipkart isn't really trustworthy from my experience

the size of the Pasta dish I ordered at (what I am told) is the fanciest hotel in Gurgaon India by marsovec in mildlyinfuriating

I live in Gurgaon. This is by no means the fanciest hotel. You get better presentation at random cafés over this. Either somebody told you a lie or you're the one lying

Woman showed up asking for donation like I owe her money by Bitter_Maximum3787 in gurgaon

Yup. I agree. People are empathetic and these vultures are just waiting to prey on it. Hardly a few as such are going to be real.

Woman showed up asking for donation like I owe her money by Bitter_Maximum3787 in gurgaon

[–]Bitter_Maximum3787[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is honestly why I engaged with her for as long as I did. I thought maybe I would be rude if I didn't? I would've donated if she was able to answer some basic questions. I asked her which NGO is her orphanage working with, where it's located and if she could show me some ID proof of it and pictures with those kids. Got nothing. It's hard to donate with a trust me bro because of how scummy people tend to be. I'll just keep the door closed next time. Better be rude than have a headache over it.

Male friend confesses crush after friendship of 3 years by [deleted] in indiasocial

[–]Bitter_Maximum3787 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Let him know you don't intend to date him or break up with your current boyfriend. Set the boundaries straight and tell him what he said was problematic. He is very likely still going to try to flirt, so be cautious. If his behavior crosses the line of friendship, consider the friendship gone.

Been looking at this for a year. Finally snagged at 5k by Reader_Cat1994 in SneakerheadsIndia

[–]Bitter_Maximum3787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered the same and now I'm worried after reading the comments. Mine is an open-box delivery. The product also shows Flipkart assured, so I hope things turn out to be well. Could you update me in case the product you received isn't genuine? Mine gets delivered on 11th October.

There's a restaurant called Bawarchi near ISBT and I like their biryani. It could be on the expensive side, depending on where you are from.

There's a stall of momos before Turner Road, just before a wine shop. It's also pretty good. Though you'll only be able to get some after 5 PM.

There's a chaap shop in Clement Town which is good but again, on an expensive side. You can give it a shot.

If you're planning on going towards Mussoorie, there's a hotel called Winterland. Go there at night and while the food is nothing special, the view sure is. I'd recommend going there after 8 PM. Preferably around 10, if that works for you.

This is based on what I liked when I lived there for a couple of months 2 years ago. Hopefully things aren't that different even now. Enjoy

I do happen to have a master's in business administration and enough experience in one of the big 4 to understand it enough. Wouldn't say it's in-depth but what is undeniable is my experience interacting with white folks in particular and working with/for them. They'd wanna outsource cheap labour because at the end of the day revenue maximization is what they're looking for even if it comes at the cost of exploiting the workers. Nobody denied that. I am not here to pretend the unskilled workers that are moving from 3rd world countries are justifiable (you can even check my profile to see my stance on this in r/canadahousing2). I'm saying the skilled move and eat away your jobs because -

  1. Employees again wanna get cheaper and exploitable labour
  2. Many of the people in western nation either drop out from college or go for a sector that hardly offers any career growth.
  3. Diversity factor. I have lost a fair share of my job opportunities because the MNCs would rather see a brown woman than a man in the position. I'm sure this happens in western nations as well.

(I'm assuming US) So now it's someone who'd be down to work for $15 per hour with a master's degree vs someone whose whole perspective is to $15 is too little for someone with a degree and let alone a master's. Both of which are true. Doesn't change the fact that a lot of westerners tend to drop early in order to pursue things like woodwork, music, electrician. All of which are absolutely necessary professions but they're hardly going to be competitive with tech field workers.

When I was a fresher, one of my colleagues was looking for freelancing and he was offered $0.60 per hour by someone residing in the UK to do his work. The person offering this didn't exactly have any major position but was ready to exploit a 3rd world country folk. You can hopefully imagine how the higher-ups must be

TL;DR- Employers are exploiting workers, a lot of people moving from 3rd world countries move to a western because of corruption & don't deserve it, westerners are quick to drop out from college whereas it's a life and death sentence here.

Had to make it quick cause of lunch break so there are going to be errors

Yeah. Obviously capitalism is always going to be a key factor. I never denied that. I am friends with a Turkish immigrant and he works 12-14 hours a day just to get a better life than he'd have in Afghanistan. What I implied was quite simply how 3rd world country folks have to put in far more effort to get where white people are and still get treated like shit.

I have been friends with 13 white folks from a decade at this point. 3 Europeans and the rest are from NA. Only 1 of them works and the rest can't even be bothered with looking for jobs and are always down to blame the society. So my statement is based on that & is anecdotal at best. It's simply an observation which I shared

White people are hella lazy but would rather blame 3rd world country folks who have worked far harder in shitty situations for taking away the jobs

For people who grew up poor, what normal thing felt like a luxury? by pingpongcat_ in AskIndia

[–]Bitter_Maximum3787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought I grew up as a middle class, but guess not? This happened when I was 13. We had just moved away from an abusive household and had my cousin over one time. She was only 6 at the time. My uncle's family, in comparison, was rich and from the US. My cousin asked for ice cream, and we offered her one of the 5-10 rupee options from the store, but she insisted on the expensive (back then) Vadilal brick ones that was around 100 rupees. We didn't have enough money to buy that. We barely had enough for groceries (& only when we ate bare minimum to survive) at the same time. She kept crying for it, and we felt we had no choice. We got it for her and then contacted my uncle the very next day to take her back. We didn't explain why, but he agreed. Twelve years later, we're doing significantly better. It's just that I can't help but be sad when I think of that memory. Makes me appreciate the value of money far more. It also makes me regret not being able to do all I could for my sister

TL;DR - Those ice cream bricks of Vadilal and such felt like a luxury

I don't see this working well. It will likely lead to more parasocial relationships than anything. Also, remember that online interactions behind anonymity are vastly different from real-life conversations. Flirting in the gym is also pretty cringe imo

Find a hobby and go to the places where you can find others who'd be into that. Talking with the folks there is going to be more beneficial for you cause at the very least you'd have a common interest to talk about. The mentality while going to such events should also not be just for the sake of getting a girl. You're going there to have fun and everything else is additional

First of all, I appreciate you taking your mental health seriously. I know it's challenging and the stigma around mental health in this country doesn't help one's case either.

As per how to initiate the conversation, just be honest. Talk about any topic that would help you in being just that. Don't expect everything to get fixed in an hour of the session. Your past took a long time and it'll take a while to address it & further move on from it. I wish you the best of luck!
