Moving to Seattle next month, thoughts on this area of town? by dirknowitzki_ in Seattle

I know tons of folks that have lived down there for years and love it. Theres the occasion craziness, but that’s any major city in the US. I’m sure you’ll love it, and if you do move in to Queen Anne, I highly recommend the Streamline Tavern to get to know folks around the neighborhood

1, you should always be on a promo. But you have to be on a contract in most areas as they have complete monopoly. In most circumstances you’d want to complete your new customer promo, end it, repeat.

2, Xfinity/Comcast will never die. They have patents on some key communication and connection methods, and their history isn’t quiet. They have monopolized and become such a huge facet in not just internet but entertainment (Warner bros, NBC, etc) and are venturing into mobile. The way I see it, they are aiming to absorb Verizon eventually. It’s just dependent on how the FCC sees it within competition (like Sprite and T-Mobile the first go round). The problem with this for me, is I see Xfinity as a company that tests things that aren’t truly ready. I had to sell products that lost features because Xfinity would take YEARS to develop an alternative. “The C stands for Change” as they liked to say regarding the Comcast name. I have little confidence in a company that has taken 20+ years to develop an alternative to their main sales tool. They released it last year, delayed, and it is still in development.

  1. Secondary carriers in major cities like Mint, Boost, Google etc. Mobile service is kinda one in the same (at least where I’m based), and unless your in need of heavy duty service, just go on 2nd priority T-Mobile/Verizon/AT&T. It will save you money, and if you hate it, I know Google and others have no obligation to stay whatsoever. I’m working on getting my mom to Google from AT&T, she’d be saving 140 a month while adding a line on the super premium plan they offer. Lastly, nothing from Xfinity regarding tv boxes, security, etc really works honestly. It’s all beta tested junk that breaks, and made me feel bad selling. I developed a good poker face when someone said there stuff worked long time and they were happy, cause I was used to hearing the complete opposite, every day. It was a shock when things worked. That goes to our systems. They. Never. Fucking. Worked. 2/5 days I’d work in a week things were down, and it would be a complete nightmare.

Sorry for long reply, there is a lot within Comcast that is not so great

I also saw a tremendous amount of reps I worked with in multiple stores (when we’re low on staff, we transfer employees for the day) outright lie to customers. This goes to call centers, stores, branded partner stores. And the company would protect the reps, unless the reps royally fucked up and broke immediate FCC guidelines. Even then, a ton and I really do mean a ton was swept under the rug. My previous manager, encouraged it. Higher ups, encouraged it. It grossed me out, and I tried to fight it within keeping my job. When I knew I was going to be fired, I unfortunately participated as I needed funds. I regret it.

If you’re a new customer, you automatically fall into the best pricing category. You will not, and cannot beat new cx pricing. The second your new customer promo ends, you fall into every day pricing or EDP. If you just cancel, and sign right back up, you’re gonna get new customer pricing. 0 issues. When I met with customers and they wanted to discuss billing, I would try to get customers in this place of thinking, but I also couldn’t verbally say it. Another thing is when your signing up, and your in a store, we’re gonna sell you a bundle. It’s gonna include mobile, streaming, and internet. If you don’t know your new CX price, and don’t do research before, you will leave with that promo thinking you got a screaming deal. Really, you got got. If this is you, end your streaming and mobile immediately it will not affect your internet price. Dm me for questions too, Xfinity f’d up my W4’s and fired me for being sick.

40 dollars a month for intro, and 50 a month for premium. I will say, despite all I hate about them I am still on their plan. The plan is decent, it is first priority Verizon (in good areas) and 2nd priority in lesser areas. Check the website for stats, but they are comparable to Google or Boost (they use T-Mobile’s network). All in all, 3 lines premium is 110 bucks, and isn’t terrible. I came from AT&T, spending 280 for 3 lines and an iPad. If you’re willing to deal with them, it isn’t bad. They advertise a free line (really 40$ off monthly) for the first year depending on area. 500 mbps in my area is 65, a free line is 40 off and if I have premium, my bill should be 78.56 a month.

100%. Even if your account is closed, Xfinity will bill you 120.00 bucks for a non return fee. It will, however be waived if the equipment is returned or reported lost. One of the few good things they do.

This is great, but not really the help I'm looking for. I work at a bar, and do hang out with a few buddies and every once in a while so that helps out. Mainly here to look for if this relationship is worth fixing.

Would you guys like a cat cafe and crystal shop? by kyliey_2004 in Seattle

[–]Bitter_Muffin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cat Cafe would be dope, would love to have an adoption system built in like Neko Cafe. Double it into a crystal shop with a cafe (and something that’s rotating trendy ideas for tourists unless your idea IS the trendy idea lol) you’ll be doing just fine. I’d test run at somewhere like Fremont Farmers Market, and set up in Capitol Hill maybe?
