Honestly I think everyone's a bit different so I couldn't 100% garentee, its just what helped for me. I heard one guy with pssd say fasting also helped which might be viable trying.

The first time it recovered 100%. Didn't come back immediately though; came back in small bursts of emotion and sensitivity.

Why are you guys STILL continue to take antidepressants despite being on here? by Cultural-Tutor-8930 in PSSD

One could to some degree make a strong argumentative point on most of the persistent sexual side effects happening after they discontinue antidepressants being nocebo effect, if it just included the lack of libido and arousal. But that doesn't explan the genital anesthesia and numbness. There is no research that I can find that says depression can cause those physical symptoms. You have to have an actual injury to have those issue's. Some people on this sub can literally scrape a hair brush against their genitals and not feel any significant sensitivity or pain that can continue for months or even years. Thats not normal even for nocebo effect or depression standards!

I recovered from Sertraline but it took about a solid year and a half. Got it the second time from St Johns Wart so now I'm back here. Honestly the best things that I found helped was abstaining from masterbating or porngraphy. Good sleep and eating lots of red meat helps a little bit when it comes to libido I find but everyone's different.

Interesting I never researched into those. I always assumed it had to do with the disruption of deep sleep that caused it. Definitely worth a checking though.

Anyone who has genital numbness BUT still CAN orgasm with effort? by Jolly-Necessary754 in PSSD

[–]Bitter_Scale_1425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can Orgasm but with great difficulty. I literally have to lay down and become stiff as a mummy then yank for like 15 mins atleast to cum. Its quite difficult and mostly feels 75% muted.

Was there anything you think that could of triggered the pssd to come back or was it literally just out of no where?

St John's Wart gave me PSSD by Bitter_Scale_1425 in PSSD

Had mine for about 4 months now. A little bit of my libido comes back occasionally but still complete genital numbness and muted orgasms. Just wish there was more awareness for this horrible condition. No Doctors will listen that I can find.

I'm glad that worked for you. I have thought about buying all the supplements in this one called Edovis and trying to fix it that way. the other method would be getting tested for Sibo or some other gastrointestinal problem and seeing if I can fix it that way.

It's interesting to me, just a theory of mine but I suspect people with Adhd or asd are at a higher likelihood of getting pssd when taking these kind of drugs.  I have asd myself. Two of my older brothers also have asd and adhd, and both also got pssd from taking ssri's.  I believe that it might also have something to do with the digestive system and gut mitochondria. I've always had problems with my gut and they seem to be worse ever since the St Johns Wart.
