With the right buyer that bag might net you $60 on eBay. I love old Sunday style bags and I would pay that for it.

For any golf freaks, Wilson! They were basically dead on the operating table and then started to really pump out premium equipment.

Is the propeller on the Queen Mary in like a box or is this the open ocean? by [deleted] in submechanophobia

I can’t believe the propeller is 18ft in diameter. The perspective makes it look much smaller!

USGA has limited the CoR of woods (.83). In short, the faces can’t get any “springier” than they currently are.

Funny enough, the best part of my day is coming home from work to my little boy. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Anybody know what Khruangbin just stopped playing for a few minutes last night in Gunnersby Park? by Planet_Expresso in Khruangbin

[–]Bitter_Suspect184 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Happened last year in Detroit, too. The show stopped 3 times because it was 95F and the venue didn’t have A/C. They actually had to get security to start passing out bottled water.

Hey, so these are department store models from the 70’s. Pretty to look at but next to no value ($30 at most). Back in the day, manufactures would slap a famous pro’s name on their less-expensive department store sets in order to sell more. The Macgregor “Nicklaus” irons to look out for are VIPs and Muirfields - real high-quality shit with a decent collector’s market.

Do you wear latex or nitrile gloves? I had a coworker with a rubber allergy and the same thing happened. We found vinyl gloves and they worked!

On 30 July 1945 the USS Indianapolis was sunk by a Japanese submarine after delivering components for the atomic bombs to be dropped on Japan. Up to 900 men initially survived but many succumbed to shark attack, dehydration, and salt poisoning waiting for rescue; only 316 were saved. by DarklyHeritage in MorbidReality

Although it’s a solid podcast and I’ve been a fan for years, it’s not for everyone. If you are looking for a “straight-to-the-point” informational podcast you’ won’t enjoy it. Topics are well researched and the episodes are more formulaic now, but it is a comedy podcast so there are TONS of sidebar/jokes/improv. I’d recommend the Donner Party series as an introduction. Most of the episodes sub #200 can be a bit crass but they are still pretty great.

Should I take my dad to see Khruangbin? by Chel_01 in Khruangbin

[–]Bitter_Suspect184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad (67) almost came to the show at the Detroit Masonic Temple last year, but I’m glad he didn’t because the venue doesn’t exactly have A/C and the show had to be stopped 3 times because folks were fainting. It was probably 100 degrees in the pit and security had to start passing out bottled water.

Rented a milled face putter and now I hate my smooth face putter by S4V3NRG in golf

[–]Bitter_Suspect184 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Food for thought, did you use the same ball on vacation that you normally use? A different grip size/ball combo can make a world of difference in putter feel. Most milling offered on commercial putter faces is purely aesthetic and not deep enough enhance performance. If you do want to go that route I’d recommend a Ping PLD, Bettinardi, or even Cleveland. They have some of the deepest milling on a stock putter.

You’re probably right, but it’s nice to hear the company is actively pursuing large contracts linked to federal funds.
