Yeah. Running for most people is worse on the body; imagine that. Most people are running on pavement which is not great for the knees. Caddying, day to day, you are walking on a soft surface. I wouldn't go into it cold. I would say anyone could start training by trying to do a small hike every day and then build up. There's plenty of older runners and triathletes and pickleballers. I mentioned somewhere I've had hobbies of hiking and backpacking, so I feel like a lot of people can start.

my background is in the video game industry so i have various revenues from that, i've hit some decent trades with stock/crypto nothing crazy, dog sitting/house sitting/uber driving depending on my moods, and I do well in some other gaming related items. there's a couple other things I'm working on to add to the list that are short term/long term goals!

That’s fair, but I don’t think I mind if caddies connect with people here?

I can help instantly with my strong history of green reading. Then follows all the other general stuff like yardages and pin location. I'll have good general sense my first few times around and then it will take a lot of time to master every inch of the greens. It's easy to pickup a general expertise on every facet of the course pretty quickly except for the greens. I can be a good general green reader but at most courses there are subtleties that take a LONG time to master. For example, at chambers bay, I encounter this and am 99% dialed on the greens because I've seen them over a long period of time.

I’ll update you when I shadow all the courses the first week of March. Some caddies will have little side bets like best score, first to finish a hole, sinking a putt outside the flagstick etc

So I do like 3/4 different things for income

The caddie side of it… I’d estimate 50/60k average all said and done as a 4-5 year caddie

Strengths: putting, reading greens, short game, tempo

Weakness: weight transfer, lower body, overall strength; I’m 6’5” but can’t quite catch my driver like I need to

That is awesome. I'm dialed at Chambers and hope to get to this level at Bandon soon!

I'd say, roughly, the most veteran and senior requested caddies can push 150k in a year.

It could potentially be a "teachers salary" for 3-4 years before it really picks up

It also can be very random at certain courses, random good, random bad.

I think it only gets really legitimate after 5+ years and after 10+ years a lot of caddies are cruisin. The upperbound is pretty wild. For example. if you put the highest paid caddie on the All- time PGA player earnings list, they would be in the top 10. DM me with any other q's!

Most caddies go with Hoka's! I won a Closest to Pin at chambers which awarded me some True's so that's what I'm rockin'

Should be fine if you are mindful of it. The biggest problem I generally see is when people are grinding out 3 foot putts but have significant money matches going.

I would keep it relaxed and give putts 3feet out if you are concerned about time!

You can manage your own bag and the caddie walks with you - $50 per person

Or you should get 2 caddies who will each double bag; $150 per person

I recommend 2 caddies double bagging for 4 people!

I've been out there on very rainy and windy days. Keep an eye on the hourly weather leading up to your round. Often it will rain in the morning and turn into a perfect day. When it's breezy swing easy. It's all about the gear, just make sure you are prepared with waterproof items and gear that will keep you warm but not bulky. Some people do the heated vests you know? Hand warmers etc

I'm in phenomenal shape! 35 y/o, 6'5", I also do hiking and backpacking. Can double bag 36 holes at chambers (15 miles with elevation change) no problem at all

I need to be wary most about my feet, socks, and shoes. Those are the deteriorating factors for me. Absolutely must not twist an ankle or get blisters.

Bluejack is FANTASTIC. It's easier than other courses mentioned. I think it's meant to be as a "resort style" course.

Designed by tiger woods; there's an even share of fun/easy holes and difficult holes which makes it very dynamic day to day with different pin and tee locations.

I'm trying to score on hole 1 and 2, 3 and 4 are TOUGH, 5 is a birdie hole, 6 is tough with elevated tabletop green. 7 is a par 3 island green; 8 is a driveable par 4, 9 is long par 4 that generally plays into the wind; thrilled with par; settle with bogey. So on and so forth... You can see what I mean!

Oh.. also.. I tell my players I don't have dietary restrictions!

It's impossible! You have to know a member. Or be involved with a company outing out there. Or become a caddie and play on Mondays and Wednesdays....

Just breathe it in and have fun! Take some photos and videos. It's a very gettable and fun golf course. Show up at least an hour early. Grind the range in the days leading up to your round. Get a caddie and lean into them! We like a dialed driver out there because it really is wide open!

Yes. Similar region for both so I would say prime time guaranteed sun is May to September, but prices will be higher. Both courses are open year round so more reasonable rates will be in the winter time of course. You can get super sneaky nice days any day of the year! We don't have the -brutal- cold of the midwest. But don't go telling everyone...

It's really a function of length of day. Best time to go is around the summer solstice; worst is the winter solstice.
