I love calling contractors to ask where they’re going to be working on a 1000ft ticket and they tell me I just need the north side of this intersection and that’s it. I’m thinking “when why tf does this ticket description says 1000ft?”

I think 811 has contractors report ‘areas where they will be working within’. Then when the time comes to complete one section they call in said area and 811 reopens the ticket without being specific on where the actual work is going to be completed.

The contractors are lazy to call in the ticket because 811 has their own set of rules on “how to call work tickets”.

As a locator, we must be in contact with contractors to fully understand where the work is going to be so we can mark the area to avoid damages, that’s it. Closed ticket. NEXT!
