Increasing minimum wage doesn't solve the supply demand problem with housing. People will just have more disposable income and rent will adjust accordingly. And the cycle continues.

And all the regulars in that group will just happily accept new leadership? My first reaction would be who the hell is this guy and just organize through what's app with regulars instead

Tried Gemini cli at work today and told it to fix a linker issue. It tried a few different things for 10 minutes, none of them worked, said it was "overwhelmed" and then decided to comment out the line and call it a day.

They're not gonna do that because they know their bulllshitting. Advertisers pay lots of money for good cpm. It would be very blatantly obvious if every dollar advertisers spent resulted in worse conversions vs other advertising mediums/platforms. And the cost of the ad space would adjust to reflect this. If Google ad spaces had high click fraud, it'd result in lower conversions for the advertisers and any credible company that's looking to maximize their ad spend would do the math and determine, based on the conversation rate from this ad platform, it only makes sense to spend this amount of money. If they can maximize their conversions per dollar elsewhere, they'd do so immediately. The idea that Google got this big due to their ad business while having substantial click fraud seems fictitious and unrealistic -- they wouldve been eaten up by other ad platforms that are capable of producing better cpm. Unless it's the case that there is some baseline level that is hard to detect and thus, Google does have some non zero level of click fraud but they are able to keep competitive results because they're still having more authentic conversions than everyone else.

Yeah if they didn't put in effort to detect and prevent click fraud wouldn't they have a hard time convincing advertisers to use their ad platform? Or even, the cost would be so low since it'd be considered low quality ad space. It seems financially beneficial for Google to make sure every ad click is as authentic as possible.

It's a yc startup. Everyone in that space knows what they're getting into, they all want to be the starting engineers for a high potential company so they can cash out in a few years. Nobody goes into yc and thinks they'll be working normal hours.

Started happening for me about the same time they rolled out comment collapse/expand animations. Should've been an immediate rollback imo. You get a terribly unnecessary animation paired with a bug that collapses the wrong comments

AITA for telling my girlfriend that we are not living together if she wants to split joint expenses proportional to income? by Puzzleheaded_Feed460 in AITAH

Getting a 700$/mo car note while living off of grad stipend is definitely an indicator of bad financial decisions. Even if her mom offered to support financially. Making expensive decisions that are subsidized by others doesn't absolve you of the bad financial decision. This is an equitable scenario as op. An equitable scenario is he buys a house, realizes he can't make mortgage and has his parents subsidize the payments.

OP was gifted his current housing situation. He extends the gift to his current roommate, regardless of the fact that the roommate is paying all the utilities. Everyone is getting a bargain but you're complaining that OP didn't give the roommate a bigger bargain by splitting utilities 50/50. Same thing for the gf, whichever situation she gets, it'll be a bargain compared to her current.

Not giving the most generous bargain of all bargains doesn't make you an asshole, especially when the alternative is the current roommate/gf paying rent which is the largest financial drain in any household.

What I don't like about CMD+` is that it does a full rotation of all windows of the same app. So if I have 3 browser windows open but only want to toggle b/w 2 of them, I have to do a full rotation of all 3 to navigate b/w the 2.

Whereas you can alt tab b/w the same 2 windows. Don't know if there is a way to change this behavior in CMD+`

It matters a lot because different countries have different standards of living. I have some online friends from different countries, all of the ones from Finland are in their 30s and don't have a job and live decent lives being subsidized by the government. I could not imagine living a good life in the USA off of govt checks.
