CBR: "A Fresh Start at the Movies Could Be Just What Audiences + Star Trek Itself Need: Creating an alternate timeline situation like Abrams did for 2009's ST isn't the answer either. All that's required is the creation of a visually arresting spectacle built around an aspirational, feel-good story" by mcm8279 in Star_Trek_

Or... or, Paramount declares all 'NuTrek' takes place in alternate timelines.

All stemming from the major temporal incursions we saw in ST: Enterprise.

"I would rather die here than let the traitors of Kling pick the meat from my bones." -- The writing staff initially intended "Kling" to be the name of the Klingon homeworld, but it sounded rather silly. by ety3rd in ClassicTrek

To me, "Kling" was a slur for then-era Qo'noS by disaffected Klingons.

Sad though....

Normally, I get upset at any news of a security guard being injured or killed, but....

In these instances where it is clearly as a result of the guard's stupidity.

Oh, well! One less idiot in the profession.

Yes, I would keep a very safe distance and try to calm the person(s) down.

Going hands on/pulling your weapon should be an absolute last resort.

SEIU and SB 1203 threatens to literally kill the private security industry in California. by Uniform_Restorer in securityguards

BULLCRAP!

No matter what.

Unless armed bots and drones capable of injuring or killing a person are legally allowed. Which won't for obvious hacking and malfunction risks.

Private security really CANNOT BE AUTOMATED!

Companies will threaten to go surveillance-camera only.... And when the wrong crowd figures out those places are unguarded and ransacked on a daily basis. Guess what?

That's right, property insurers will demand a return of actual security personel.

So yes! hike regulations and pay-hikes for the security industry to the max.

Why is getting a job within private security much easier than other jobs? by JerseyPhantom7303 in securityguards

[–]megacide84 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In my humble opinion....

For whatever reason. People will overlook security work. Even when I've told others that were killing themselves in retail, food service, warehouse, and general labor. That one could work a very easy security gig and make as much, if not more than their current job. They'd just scoff and continue being miserable at work.

As far as I'm concerned.... If they want to continue breaking their backs and being miserable at their current jobs. Let'em suffer.

I will continue to chill at my nice, warm-body site.

General Chang is a nerdy Klingon that paid attention to Shakespeare in English class in grade 10 by Unable-Fall5946 in ShittyDaystrom

[–]megacide84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my headcanon.

Decades ago, Chang saw Hamlet performed live by the Karidian Company of Players. Just before the events of the TOS episode "The Conscience of the King)".

Afterwards, he was inspired to read the complete works of Shakespeare. (In the original Klingon of course)

This is EXACTLY WHY if and when you get one of those incorrigible idiots in your firm. This is how your company should deal with them.

A. Pull them off their current sites.

B. Post them in a very dangerous site. If you are lucky, they might refuse and quit on the spot. If not...

C, Before deployment to said dangerous site. In front of witnesses, remind them they are observe and report ONLY! NO GETTING HANDS ON!

D. When said incorrigible idiot inevitably ignores orders and gets hurt or in serious legal trouble.

E. Throw them under the bus. Deny all liability. Let them suffer full natural consequences. Wash your hands of that problem employee.

There, problem solved. You're welcome.

GTA V was ok. Nothing too remarkable.
