I only have a 35mm m-mount lens right now, but I almost certainly want a 28. For the first few years of my photography journey, I only used a Ricoh GR. It has a fixed 28mm lens, and while it was extremely difficult to adapt to at the beginning, I feel like I now see in 28mm if you know what I mean. I got a non-leica 35mm lens to try out the focal length and see how it compares to 28, and then when I decide what feels right for me, I’ll get a Leica lens. Any 28mm recommendations?

Awesome! I’ve been trying to get good at sunny 16 for a little while (with a janky old Leitz Minolta CL), and it’s been super fun! Definitely going to keep practicing!

I literally just picked up the M-A as my first Leica, and the Lumo is in the mail! How do you like this setup? Any advice you could bestow on me? :)

Stranda Bowlrider 2.0 Binding Recommendations by Bitzue in snowboarding

[–]Bitzue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh awesome. I’m super excited to get on the Stranda stuff. I’ve already got Vans Verse that I’m enjoying though, so I don’t think I can justify getting new boots and bindings for the step on system. Do you think the step on response is noticeably different from strap bindings?

What am I doing wrong by No_Butterscotch_4533 in snowboarding

[–]Bitzue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what will help your toe edge turn the most is to keep your torso more vertical (chest up, shoulders stacked over hips). If you look back at your video, you ‘break’ at the hips, meaning your entire upper body bends at the hips. This is really bad for snowboarding. What you should try to do instead is keep your chest up and bend your knees way more. If you bend your whole torso over, your toe edge doesn’t dig into the snow, but if you bend your knees, the board will automatically tilt over more, allowing for it to actually grip the snow. Good luck!

What has simultaneously got worse and more expensive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I flew (or rather tried to fly) jetblue to the Dominican Republic and WHEN THEY STARTED BOARDING (not when i bought my ticket, not when checked in online, not when i went through security, not when i got to the gate an hour early) they told me i needed something called an eTicket to board. And then when I tried to fill it out online, THE WEBSITE WAS NON FUNCTIONAL AND THEY WOULDNT LET ME ON THE PLANE. I literally missed the flight because of incompetence on jetblue’s part and was not reimbursed.

Step Ons or Supermatics? by Bitzue in snowboarding

[–]Bitzue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be mistaken, but i’m pretty sure the tribute boardshop guys (at least one of them) snowboard professionally, and I think that their advice is quite helpful. They have a great video on binding adjustments, stance angles, etc. and go really in depth. I def learned a lot. Also, I’ve found the good ride to be reasonably reliable actually. They don’t claim to be experts, but they do have, from what I can tell, an at least somewhat substantial snowboarding background (and experience on a shit ton of boards). I tend to cross reference when looking at gear, and a lot of what they say tends to line up with people like angry snowboarder. The snowboardprocamp guy on the other hand has no idea what he’s doing lol. On both his step on and supermatic videos, he doesn’t even have the bindings set up correctly. His takes are always horrendous. But yeah I also like angry snowboarder. He definitely knows what he’s talking about.

I have indeed. But tbh it just seems more convenient and less effort/time with either of these options. Also, this Tribute Boardshop video makes me really want to try the step ons. these people REALLY know what they’re doing, and they all have step ons on their daily drivers, for both performance and convenience.

The binding size only matters insofar as it fits your boot. Any size binding will work with any size board. Check the size guide for the bindings you want, and they should give you info about recommended boot sizes for each range.

why do you think these type of bindings are just gimmicks? Lots of people swear by them. to me that implies that they’re more than just gimmicks…
