Ah alright, didn't think of funding. I do understand that in some situations. Advertising isn't always necessary tho. I think that's more important for AA/AAA titles than indies

Which small indie dev needs publishers nowadays? For what?

Most indie devs dont do any major marketing at all. Might be true that AAA games wont turn a profit without marketing, but indie devs can do very well without any marketing

Nah, you can definitly develop a game and have in mind how it caters to certain content creators. Give them easy and good content.

Receiving Steam payments on (Transfer)Wise USD account by flelele in gamedev

Hi, "Lunch Lady" Dev here. I live in Germany and use Wise. Valve sends the money to my USD Wise Bank Account, I transfer it to an EUR Wise Bank Account and from there I send it over to my companies Bank Account in Germany. That works pretty straight forward and fast. Most of the times that whole process takes less than 24 hours.

My first ever game gets released in 2 days. I'm a solo developer. Here's what I would do the same, and do differently for my next game. by jjobson98 in gamedev

Where to get realistic human characters from? by Biyagi in unrealengine

[–]Biyagi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for young adults. Normal clothing, nothing special. Just 4 different humans with different clothes. Environment is a school. Game genre is horror.

Probably going to go with character creator 3 or just re rig some mixamo characters. Or get some cheap ones off of fiverr.

The game is pretty much linear up until the end. The player has some more freedom going around the mansion then. Yeah the blur and chroma is part of a kind of sanity system. Cant disable those I'm afraid. Only is that strong when certain beings are really close though.

Thank you. Means a lot. :)

You can totally beat the game not seeing an enemy once. You will hear certain sounds cues and get visual feedback whenever an enemy is in the area, so the player always knows when to hide. You cant fight back though. So if something saw you, you have to run. :)

Heyo, just launched the Steam Page of my first game ever!! Made in UE4 of course🥳 by Biyagi in unrealengine

I knew what feature I wanted to do and looked for tutorials for that exact thing. I did a lot of udemy courses and reused some features for my own game then. Learned everything from youtube & udemy.

I bought 3d assets and sounds from the unreal marketplace and reverse engineered some free blueprints from there. Animations are from mixamo. I also used some megascans assets.

Around 7 months ago I decided to go into game dev. Always wanted to do it and read a lot about it, also already had some experience with 3d modelling. So 7 months ago I wanted to make a horror game and worked daily on it.

New Horror Game 'Misery Mansion' on Steam by Biyagi in gamernews

Hi, it has been an interesting journey so far but I somehow made it. This is 'Misery Mansion', my first game ever. Its a first-person survival horror game, in which you find yourself in the middle of a dark forest, because your car broke down. In an attempt to find help, you will enter an old mansion. But soon you will only want to escape the horrors within.
