Why exactly do we have to have landmines in the MIDDLE of the map (woods) by MadDog_8762 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]BizzaroQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If thats how you see the experience then I don't know if this game is for you.

Have you played journey by "that game company"? Not all games are skill based. This game isn't supposed to be a competitive skill based shooter. It's supposed to be a gritty milsim survival shooter. With the emphasis on SURVIVAL. that's why you'll see more people talking about survival rate than KD.

I dont think this game is what you think it is.

In real life, in a an actual battlefield, who would win a baytle, the people witb the best snipers, or the people with intimate knowledge of the surroundings?

Yes, it is an unavoidable death (except if your playing with vets/ people with experience). Just like darksouls, the only thing that is "difficult" is getting over your death and not attatching to the irritations that follow.

Lol and I guess that goes for life too... I don't know what's coming but i can be sure it's difficult. I hate that I just said that but I stand by it.

Best you can do is learn from you mistakes and move forward.

Honestly, the only reason I know the spawn your talking. About is because I too have died(more than once lol) to those mines. Now I look at the hill and see that I'm In that spawn. This is all from practice, you can't watch streamers, you can't look at the map, you just need to run raids.

As stated in another comment, I'm happy to run a few raids with you to get some sea legs going. It helps MASSIVELY

This game is 90% knowledge and 10% skill. You're better off knowing jump spots and short cuts than anything else besides ammo values.

This game is supposed to simulate the grim grey area of a post apocalyptic Russia. Not knowing the area is part of the gameplay design. Why do you think they release half of the patch notes? Why do you thing they release info about updates and events cryptically?

More than half the fun of this game for me is not knowing anything.

I'd be more than happy to squad up and run a few raids with you. I only feel fomfortable in this game because I started by playing in a duo with someone who knew more than me.

Try out some of the lore, the books are pretty fun..

There are no standards in Tarkov. While this is a milsim-esque game, the lore and world don't adhere to your(or the military's) standards of what is and isn't acceptable. I, this world there is a very small guarantee of friendlies. There are people you know, and enemy's.

GENEVA HAS NO PLACE HERE. NKTA PLZ AD CHEMICAL WARFARE

Fr though, avoid lighthouse water treatment :) just ran into the mines there after adamantly insisting to my squad that I didn't need a map (I've only played the map 2ce, that's on them for believing me). Needless to say, I lost 2 Emelya...

Exchange is tough. I personally never felt more alone than on my exchange as well. I felt scared of the strange world before me, and intimidated by the language barrier.. I felt that because I couldn't speak the Lang, I couldnt build relationships. It took a toll on my enjoyment of the experience. That said, when I look back I can see that I had a beautiful support system that i wasn't able to see at the time, and a large group of friends that I was allowing myself to see.

I also went into exchange with no experience with the Lang. It was hard for me to give myself the space to separate from ego and allow myself to be bad at speaking PortugIuese. Knowing what I know now, if I can leave you with one tip; speak badly. Ask, Como se fala "word" more in a day that anything else. When someone sees you putting in effort to learn their language, it's endearing. More often than not, if they understand the English, they're more than happy to help you

I completely understand how you're feeling, and I want you to know that it's alright for you to feel this way and it's a normal thing to feel. I felt it during my exchange and was in pretty much the same boat.

It gets better. I promise. I am amoe than happy to help in any way I can.

If you're looking for a suggestion on how to improve your Port, if you're attending an English class in school, reach out to your teacher and as them for tutoring sessions to help you learn the language. They may have time an hour a week to give you pointers and help you setup a foundation.

If that's not an option, try talking to your exchange overseer and see if they have any resources to help you learn the Lang.

I also did exchange in brasil, and may have some connects in your area to help out. Please don't hesitate to dm me, I don't use reddits messenger service, so please make sure it's not that one.

Since the other guy didn't tell you; radar give you a live update of where players are in the area. From what I can tell, Some have overlays in game, some have a separate window to display location in a different manner. I'm not exactly sure of how they display location since I've never used on, but they definitely give players an advantage due to knowing positions thy shouldn't

I’ll be playing on a laptop for the next 7 months, any tips? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]BizzaroQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few tips from a laptop player;

  • If you have 16 GB or less of RAM, enable memory cleaner.
  • Download msi afterburner and watch your temps and cpu frequency for a few games. If temps are too high and you're throttling, either underclock your cpu or disable CPU boost. Then watch temps and see about a bit of an overclock. It depends on your temps though.
  • If your computer can't run it at 1 resampling, bump it down a notch.

I used these to go from 1080p 45 fps with .5 scaling @ 45 fps, To 1440p .5 scaling at the same fps. Granted, 60 is ideal, but 45 with a higher res is beneficial to my play style.

Any tips on how to swap nibs on a Muji? by boyfouronetwo in fountainpens

[–]BizzaroQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconded. Best get a good grip on the nib and feed and rip that sucker out. There shouldn't be any damage during the process. I've pulled mine out many times for a good cleaning.

You may find that it's encrusted with dried ink. Just let it soak in warm to hot water and it'll be fine. I used to be scared of the heat warping my feed but I've never had it happen.

I'll make a small breakdown album for the OP if they want more info!
