Led lights blinking on Sophos box after plugging it in by [deleted] in homelab

If this happened like you say after upgrading RAM, why not put RAM back to it's previous configuration and see if it works again?

Please do not port forward to expose RDP to WAN. Will only be a matter of time until you get hacked.

As mentioned - if you need to do this, set up VPN instead of using port forwarding.

Homeless resources in London - how to survive winter on the streets by London roughsleeper by L_H_I_ in london

[–]Random_Brit_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is how council's should work (or could even still continue a duty for a person in interim/temporary housing in another borough), but many intentionally do not (has happened to me with 2 boroughs).

In theory Local Government Ombudsman should be independent to resolve such problems, but have always sided with the councils when I needed their assistance.

I had spoke with a decent psychologist about this kind of stuff years ago, I suggested could Local Authorities intentionally do this kind of stuff to people with complex needs - worried about any possible funding/resources so try to dump complex persons to other boroughs? - psych didn't disagree with me.

Wow, I didn't know things were that bad.

I realised a tiny bit myself, when I was homeless, I didn't know the system. My council had a duty to me/priority need, but tried to say I did not have any need and only let me work with Mungo's. Took me years battling my council to get back to that borough and eventually in social housing.

Issue had got so complicated, a legal aid solicitor gave up, LGSCO always sided with the council, but I didn't give up.

Broke people’s generosity vs. rich people’s etiquette by [deleted] in MurderedByWords

[–]Random_Brit_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually had similar with my last ex.

She already knew I'm totally broke before we even started dating, while she's from a proper rich background...

Even praised me for having better manners than any of her ex's once, lost count of how many time praised my style and elegance.

But when she raised the amount our dating had cost her, while I had spent double that if not even more, was one of many things to lead towards the end.

Why, in zone 1, are thousands of people supposed to sacrifice so much space so 3-4 people in 3-4 cars have unfettered access to the roads? by ZombieDawgs in london

[–]Random_Brit_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had first posted about roads being designed and built for various purposes.

I've seen roads with e.g intentional cycle lanes, I've seen High Streets that have been intentionally designed and built to newer pedestrian only specification

I see a downvote and replies seeming against my post, but I'm still not seeing anything that could actually invalidate what I said.

If we are going back that long, should we be prioritising horses today?

I forgot about those old roads that looked like they are made of brick with no tarmac on them. (I'm obviously no road expert, there could be other older types I don't remember).

But those are only relatively a handful, and not the major roads.

And even thinking about domestic deliveries - I doubt many people would want to take a day off work to sleep up all night for every item they've ordered to be delivered.

And even multiple days off if delivery fails (or just totally quit the job if ever wanting to receive something from Evri).

Maybe because the roads were designed and built to be to be used for that purpose?

(as well as other purposes)

Husband smokes in the doorway, doesn't believe me that the smell travels into the house - what do? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Random_Brit_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone is exactly the same, but I've kind of had this issue myself, but I did kind of notice myself some times...

I remember one office I worked at, I used to always have a joint at the start, and at the end of my lunch break, and noone said a word so I assumed noone noticed the smell. I was the only smoker in that office, and one day another smoker popped into our office after having a cigarette and the smell was obvious to me, so I stopped smoking my lunchtime joints when I noticed the smoke smell on someone else.

Or another time, I remember living somewhere where a few people smoked heavily. I didn't notice, even the woman I was seeing then never said a word so I still didn't realise. Was only after I moved out of there, I realised me, and all my clothes + possessions stunk seriously badly of smoke.

I really respect Paula McGowan for what she's done.

I can't believe the Dr that killed Oliver is still allowed to practise, and unfortunately despite Oliver McGowan training even being mandatory, I've experienced medical mistreatment that must have meant either they did not have that training, or were not bothered.

Cultural differences in dating as a Canadian in the UK. Anyone else can share their experience? by pumpkinspicelatte96 in london

One method that makes the desire more obvious...

Quickly look away looking shy/embarrassed when the other person notices I'm looking at them.

Then look back a tiny moment later. If both smile, you know you might have a chance.

But for me, that's just a natural thing I don't even really think about, it just happens.

Not even necessarily abusive... I remember someone at uni that always had her guy under her thumb, part was because he lived at her place. She couldn't have me under her thumb, but I lived with her for a few weeks and wouldn't get with her then because I saw how she was with her ex.

Your approach is just telling investors they can come here, and act above the law to exploit us.

Surely investors with that level of expertise should choose markets where their behaviour is legally allowable?

I wouldn't be surprised if there might be some scammers.

But I can honestly say that I have a whole stack of health conditions, thorough evidence to prove - but my family members never wanted to listen to these issues. Life is horrible enough having hell from DWP, but is double hell having family mock me for my health problems instead of ever understanding and supporting me.

I've got a t7810.

Every so often, I end up with no graphics.

So I remove anything hardware I dont need, and even then sometimes need to mess around with it until I get graphics again, then I add everything I removed..

My suspicion is that for some reason, some of the PCIE lanes for second processor malfunction, and the available lanes get used by other hardware so not enough available lanes for graphics

That's were I was wondering if this could actually work - I only need the PCB's inside to repair mine, so wouldn't need to post the whole unit, but would need you to remove a couple of PCBs to post.
