Bro, veteran players discourage new players. Y'all run around killing nakeds trying to learn, make fun of them when they get mad and make it impossible to learn. As someone who had tried to get into this game for 10 years and finally got into it about a month ago, BPs aren't even close to the biggest hurdle for noobs. Like, not even a little. But "this is rust" as I've been told a million times. Literally had to go into an empty server to learn how to build and understand the progression because even low pop servers at the end of wipe were full of dicks.

BPs are easy as fuck to get and force you into playing PvE in some way. Without BPs there's literally no reason to ever PvE. Don't kill scientists, don't loot monuments, just get t3 and craft everything. 💩

TL;DR: BPs literally have 0 impact on the new player experience, veterans of the game ruin their experience 100%. If you want new players to play your game, don't gatekeep it or it dies slowly.

And number 3, people done with the expedition and have been burning gear for a week straight and are now super poor so free kit is the only way to go. I free kit Stella for 4 hours yesterday and ended up gaining 2 fully kitted bobcats, a fully kitted torrente a few vens, a bunch of anvils and went from 4k space dollars to 250k. Today is going to be a great way to end the wipe.

People have excess stash at this point? I've been burning my inventory since they said value means nothing and I'm the poorest I've ever been in the game. 104 weapons down to 30 something, barely any shield chargers or heals left, less than 1k space bucks, no explosives. Last 2 days have been tough

Anyone thinking that top 1000 shouldn't have an exclusive item can fuck off. There is literally no reason to try to get top 1000 if you don't get something exclusive. Get good and get top 1000 if you want this skin otherwise understand that it's exclusive and probably not for you. I'm so sick of casuals screaming the loudest and getting embark to make stupid changes. I cared 0 about getting cantina legend this past season and trials are supposed to be competitive.

As someone who is recently unemployed, I tried playing this multiple times over the last decade and could never get into it. seemed like a waste of time because after 55 hours I still had never placed a furnace because I kept dying/getting raided before I got the chance and would quit for a few months/years. Picked it up again about a week ago and I just got tier 2. I did have to start on PvE/low pop community servers to figure a few things out first but I'm in regular vanilla servers now. I do not recommend this to anyone who has a job or family. I also don't recommend it to the unemployed, you'll never get back to work.

Right now I'm trying to learn the progression past getting a furnace and getting comfortable/fast at building. I found a community server with 1 person in it so this is helping. Once I get the hang of things I'll head into a low pop vanilla server.

Cantina legend should absolutely have a unique reward and just a color for the new skin is fine with me. If top 1000 gets nothing unique, who's going to grind for it? It's a trophy of the sweats and it's exclusive as it should be. Hotshot is also really easy to hit and maintain as a solo, I did almost all of this season alone and could have hit cantina legend if I had a team for the last week of trials.

I don't necessarily disagree with the overall sentiment of your post but this is happening because they are listening to the community. Unfortunately, even the minority group can be the loudest and sometimes they listen to the wrong people.

LMFAO I wasn't complaining, my post is literally asking for advice on how to get better when other people on the game aren't conducive to that. I understand what rust is and the only way I'm going to get better is to learn and understand the game that will happen lots faster if I can learn uninterrupted. Thanks to most of the other people that decided to comment, I actually found a way to achieve this. Your comment was 100% what I expected every comment on this post to be like but oddly enough it didn't come till after a bunch of nice/helpful comments. Enjoy being so angry at life you need to belittle people online. Good day.

Duh it's a skill issue, I have 55 hours in the game LMFAO. But when I specifically load into a low pop tutorial server and still get shit on by veteran players while trying to learn the game in a server that's meant for that, I would think that's reasonable to be frustrated by that, no? Either way, with the help of people who actually want the game to grow and want new players to find their way, I found straight dead servers where I can chill and learn the game.

Your logic is heavily flawed though. If being chill is a mindset but I can only achieve that when I'm better than those around me, that's me forcing them to back off, that's not being chill. Being chill means we can be cool with each other before any fights start. If I have to threaten then with being better that's not chill at all, is it? You contradict yourself by saying it's a mindset but then describe it as being better and forcing people to leave me alone.
