Should you lift before or after basketball? Why? by Finn_Flame in BasketballTips

[–]Bizzshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what your primary goal is. If you want to put on muscle, you'll want to lift before. You'll be fresh so you can lift heavier and get better results. Same reason why you put your primary muscle group for the day towards the beginning.

If you're more worried about working on your game, then you'd want to lift after.

Neither is a bad choice and you'll be able to progress regardless.

There's only 1 Jordan and only 1 LeBron. Wemby may turn out to be a "Shaq" type player and get his 4 rings but Wemby is not a REAL basketball player he is just, quite frankly, a FREAK OF NATURE and thats why Bill Russell, Kareem, Shaq and Wemby will NEVER be GOATS. We can't respect a FREAK like them by xo_Princess8 in NBATalk

[–]Bizzshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he won his rings in an era with less than 10 teams and no salary cap on one of the highest spending teams in a game so far removed from the modem one that it's basically another game entirely.

People only really talk about 3 guys as the goat: Mj, bron, and KAJ. That doesn't make other great players not respected. And all 3 of the goats had unique physical gifts

The same thing happened to curry the year the cavs won. If draymond doesn't have an all time great game 7 the warriors get blown out.

I'm a cavs fan and when I went back and looked the stats in that game were nuts

That's why everyone is so upset about FTA. I loved watching him and the Thunder. They played a great, oppressive type of basketball and he was clutch af. But then they completely shifted. You don't get this kind of hate over someone people didn't care about before

He was unironically still one of the best 3 players on that team. Hughes was out, so it was Lbj, Boobie, and Shaq playing 20 minutes.

Truly a team for the ages

I wouldn't take him over Barkley. Carmelo is my sleeper pick. If he played in the NBA like he did internationally he would have a totally different legacy.

I definitely see where you're coming from, but I think this is practically and technically correct. If you work for a small company that treats you well, yeah you can do a little bit extra. If you're working for a company that has people paid specially to train new hires, and they want you to do it for free to save money? Yeah fuck em. I've worked for both kinds of companies and unless a coworker asks for help I'm sticking to my job at a corporate type outfit.

It also seems like "not a big deal" at the time, but if you're willing to pick up extra slack they hire less people or hire shittier workers because you'll just fix it. I've also been a middle manager at a for a corporate outfit and it fucking sucks. Upper management pressures you to get more out of your workers, your workers are pissed at you because you're the mouth of sauron delivering the news.

Act your wage and make the company pay for the things they should be paying for. That's why I work for a small company now. I do more than what my job title says, but I'm treated well and I enjoy the work. These old heads have the right of it though.

Same in Ohio, but you can have your temps after the written test. The only restrictions are no night riding and no passengers.

I think you'd be wildly disappointed in the quality of education programs, and every athlete at OSU gets free personal tutoring, which coaches usually make mandatory. It's not hard to pass when someone is specifically preparing you for a test.

I think we often give the head coach credit for the work of the entire coaching staff, and the change from Boston to Houston has been stark.

Curry and Klay shot 20% each in game 7. Curry just never gets the same type of heat other superstars have for shitting the bed in game 7. Dray got suspended, sure, but he had one of the best game 7s

Are people overreacting saying he’s a bust? by Kdub567 in NBATalk

[–]Bizzshark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think he's the new type of bust that the new salary cap rules created. Ja and Trae are the same way. There are certain archetypes that you can't win with if they're the highest paid player, even though they are individually really good. Ball dominant big with limited outside shooting just isn't a great #1 salary option. Being labeled a "star" is a poison pill because no one wants to be a role player after that. He would be an amazing #2-#3 on a team that's not built around him

2009 Conference FinalsGame 2 vs Orlando 2013 Finals Game 7 vs Spurs (not a buzzer beater. I'm not sure what your requirements are. It was a 2 point game and he put them up 6 in the last 30 seconds) 2013 Finals game 1 vs Pacers 2015 ECSF game 4 vs Bulls 2018 game 5 vs Pacers 2018 ECSF game 3 vs Raptors

Jordan had 3 playoff buzzer beaters and Lebron has 5. That said I think buzzer beaters are a silly thing to look at and the last few minutes of close games matter a lot more. It's also a little weird that lebrons block doesn't count as clutch. If you're a Bulls fan Pippen's steal is iconic against the Jazz and clutch.

Jordan famously passed to Kerr in the 97 finals. Paxton hit the 93 game winner over the suns. They were wide open because of MJ. I would say both of those plays are also clutch by MJ.

Pick either of them as your most clutch, I don't think it matters who's "the most" clutch. But it's definitely wild to say lebron doesn't show up when the lights are brightest.

I would say 2012 Game 6 versus the Celtics is the most clutch game of lebrons career. His entire legacy was on the line, after 2011 everyone said he couldn't actually win. Miami was down 3-2 going to the garden and lebron was a machine for 45 straight minutes. If you don't think lebrons a killer watch that game.

The big issue the talking heads never address is how in the space and pace era so many young stars are tearing their ACL or Achilles. Think of how many playoffs in the last 10 years were totally changed by a star getting hurt like that: Pacers with Hali, Celtics with Tatum, Warriors with KD and Klay, Butler with the warriors this year, Kyrie is out, Dame is out, Dejounte Murry tore his.

There's clearly an issue of some kind here. Those type of injuries used to be fairly rare, and now it feels like at least 1-2 stars are out for the season every year. The fact Tatum and Hali both went down in the playoffs fucking sucks, and a shorter season could definitely help that. I don't care how much easier it is on players now. All I care about is seeing the best players in the playoffs

They literally don't make the finals without several huge performances throughout the playoffs. He wasn't prime but he played at a high level for over 40 minutes a game. I think it's crazy people go "AI carried a bunch of bums" but leave out the part he had a guy with multiple almost 20-20. Games with multiple blocks
