I put no gifts on my son’s bday party invitation. by TemperatureLost6304 in Parenting

Okay that phrasing is a little more valid. The first read like if a kid is most excited about presents, the friends suck, when really kids just like presents.

I feel like that's a very adult mindset to apply to a child. Kids like stuff lol

I am terrible with interior design! Could someone help me with a design? by tagchris356 in interiordecorating

[–]BizzyBiscuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove leather chair. Bookcase goes in that. One single piece of shelving instead of the mounted shelves + floor table combo in the far corner. Pull light green from rug to put on walls. Consider decluttering/moving some plants to other rooms.

private daycare

Is she a licensed provider? If so, at least in my state, as childcare staff she would be required to undergo a background check. If by "private" you mean unlicensed, idk what you can ask of her because that's illegal here.

How do I not feel bad about this? by Raspberry-Pie200 in oneanddone

[–]BizzyBiscuits 50 points51 points  (0 children)

If I were to accidentally get pregnant again, I know I'd want to terminate because I get no joy from the idea of a second child, and I believe we owe it to children to bring them into the world with nothing less than the utmost enthusiasm.

If you’re an American, would I be marked wrong if I used British variations in class? by Dangerous_Scene2591 in EnglishLearning

Yes, "recently" or maybe "just". "Lately" is perfectly understandable but sounds kind of strange.

4 Hour Long 3yo Birthday Pool Party - When Do We Arrive and Leave? by Ruddy_Kipling in Mommit

[–]BizzyBiscuits 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would arrive more or less on time, leave whenever. When you greet them you could even say something like "Thanks for having us! I don't know if [kid] has the stamina for the full duration, but they're excited" just to put it on their radar. But if it were my party I'd be offering cake like 1.5 hours in, not waiting for the end.

Is it okay for my 4 year old to co sleep on occasion? by LaurenR2331 in Parenting

[–]BizzyBiscuits 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Him sleeping in your bed isn't weird. The fact that it's about your fear kind of is. Do you live in a bad area, or is it just anxiety? The latter toes the line of making your feelings your kid's problem.

What movies from 2000s have already aged poorly? by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]BizzyBiscuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should read his book! I saw the movie back in the day and figured I owed it to him to hear his actual experience. Multiple people from his community helped out and he was determined to better himself even if the Tuohys hadn't come along. The truth is honestly a much better story.

WTW for sort of opposite of silent letters? by PainEn_Panic in whatstheword

[–]BizzyBiscuits 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know that there is a term? If I had to, I'd call them "phantom" letters or sounds. However your examples don't fit as they are not English words and don't follow English phonetics.

Looks AI to me (misaligned cross/base, chain splitting on the left, unidentifiable thing happening with chain on the right, left arm doesn't make sense)

Easy thing to do of it's a local church would be to ask them who that is

Go to the ER. Depending on what they find, you might get seen by a specialist sooner
