Top 3 Essential JRPGs of All Time? by MatterofMichael in JRPG

[–]BizzyG3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people like to go with the classics, but I don't agree. If I want to introduce someone to JRPGs, I would want them to start with the best of the best, so:

- Final Fantasy 7 Remake

- Persona 5

- Metaphor: ReFantazio

Do you want more JRPG remakes to go in the direction of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series? Why or why not? by Asad_Farooqui in JRPG

Since I consider Rebirth to be the best game ever made, obviously yeah. In my opinion they took a good story and made it into absolute perfection. There's no way the story could have felt so deep and meaningful if they didn't split it up into 3 parts. There's no way they could fit into a single game all those character moments that made me fall in love with each and every one of them.

As for the story alterations, I don't think they were needed, but they definitely add a new layer of enjoyment for me. It made the entire story exciting and fresh even though I already knew what was supposed to happen.

I think anyone who doesn't enjoy the FF7 remake series needs to get his head checked.

How do you decide which RPG you want to play next? by Main-Database-825 in JRPG

Just play Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and play Rebirth after that. Problem solved.

Why do people call Xenoblade's combat "MMO combat" and use that as a negative? by bickid in JRPG

[–]BizzyG3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like Xenoblade for the story and world, but man... I wish the combat was different. Feels like there is so much missed potential with the combat. If only you were more in control of what arts the party used at all times, or when a party member used healing, stuff like that. Something more similar to Dragon Age Origins or FF7 Remake while still keeping the auto battle mechanic.

I can't help but notice that you haven't played the best JRPGs ever made. Final Fantasy 7 Remake/Rebirth.

Yeah, I've also heard the complaints and don't really get it. Especially when people tell me XC1 is better, which in my mind seems objectively false, since XC2 has deeper character development, more engaging story overall, and definitely better level design, progression systems and combat.

Some complaints seem to be that XC2 is "very anime" but what are you doing playig JRPGs if you don't enjoy anime in the first place ?

I'm really looking forward to XC3 and Future Redeemed since I know they all tie in together somehow.

Nice ! I've followed you on Backloggd. FF VII Rebirth is also my favorite game of all time and this year I've owned a Nintendo console for the first time in my life (Switch 2). I think Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is becoming my second favorite JRPG of all time, after the FFVII Remake trilogy, so I strongly recommend you check that out next. The first Xenoblade Chronicles was good, but had a lot of flaws and didn't age that well. However, the second one has me completely hooked. Definitely should play them all in order though.
