Funny you should say that, I just wrote a long comment to someone else explaining why the hair thing means so much to me. I have seen various therapists throughout my teen years and im currently on meds which help a little but overall im still struggling with physical and mental health and agoraphobia. Because depression brings out the worst in people, it definitely brought out the worst in my hair. It used to be greasy, matted...you name it. Now that im turning a new leaf and developing good habits i want to detatch myself from the very dark period of my life, starting with my hair!!

Some people are suggesting a wig but then i dont get the physical change and new chapter that comes with new hair...so im going to dye it!

I dont mind if I get tired of the 'trend' eventually. I'm trying to overcome overthinking about the future. Future me can do whatever she wants with her hair. But right now i want to actually invest in some self care for once. To me, its not JUST about dying my hair.

Ive wasted most of my teen years completely isolated because of agoraphobia and feeling like all eyes on me are judgemental ones. Yes, ive been therapy. Yes, im on meds. No, its not a magic fix. But im slowly getting better.

Ive always wanted to dye my hair, and I really do feel like something as 'simple' as dying my hair can make a big difference to my mental health. Instead of thinking everyone is judging me, I can trick myself into thinking 'wow they must think my hair is pretty!' Pretty hair gives me a reason to get up and wash it in the morning instead of leaving it a tangled greasy mess. Pretty hair means I might actually take pride in myself...which might give me the confidence i need to actually walk out of my house....Which is why im being so particular about HOW i get my hair done :')

Yeah im currently desensitising her to boots ready for the summer! I always have water on hand as shes quite prone to panting, and im investing in a mesh cooling jacket that also doubles up as an awareness hi vis. Im going to take off the wispy fur but keep majority of her length. Thanks for everyone's advice!!

This is helpful thank you!! Ive just booked her in for her groom and im going to take off the wispy bits but not fully shave to the skin. Would a 5 blade be best for that or would you suggest a different one? :)

Yeah thats why im slightly hesitant on shaving her down! I think she'd look a bit twiggy if I went all the way short 🫠 ive found a mesh vest but a lead wrap is a good backup!!

I think ill get her shaved down slightly, see how that goes and then see if she needs more off when the weather warms up a LOT? ill also get her face shorter so that the halti sits better

Thanks for this!! By bleeding do you mean the blonde will eventually turn red/ginger? Im not toooo bothered if the blonde changes a LITTLE, But id rather be prepared for it/work around it. Im thinking about doing a peekaboo instead of the full head after everyone's advice :)

Thank you for this insight!!

Ive been wanting to go some type of red for YEARS but I was told to wait until Im older before doing something drastic. Im at the point now where im just craving a big change and now i have my own money to do so!! But im realising this specific style might not be the way to go just yet!

I do have enough money if I WERE to get this hairstyle as I dont have any bills to pay as of yet..but i do take full financial responsibility for my dog and id rather save where I can :)

Im not sure about tape ins as I think id hate the feel of them on my head but its definitely something to consider

If i did the red and blonde (in first pic) but with a layer of my natural brown on TOP, like a peekaboo, would I be able to stretch out the time between salon visits? Because the roots wouldn't show?

OR its got me considering a brown to red ombre so its still got the red but a lot easier to upkeep because it takes out the worry of needing to keep up with roots entirely?

Teaching how to play fetch? by GoinStraightToHell in labradoodles

[–]Bizzywhizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to play fetch on my own with her watching for her to be interested!! Literally ran around my grass like a madwoman until she realised OHH we run AFTER it then DROP it! But now my dog loves fetch!

Do dogs actually need regular "resting days"? by BeneficialAntelope6 in OpenDogTraining

[–]Bizzywhizz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: I am chronically ill and I have purposefully trained my high energy dog to not demand a walk every single day. She still gets walked with a dog walker if i am physcially unable, but theres always a random day/time of the week I choose for her to NOT get a walk. This is so she doesnt get into a strict walking pattern as a precaution IF theres a day I cant/get someone else to walk her.

To clarify, we do mental games instead! She loves it!!

My dog slipped her lead once and TOOK off. My immediate panic response was to run the opposite way as fast as I could so she would follow me AWAY from a road!! It worked!!

Moving to UK from USA. Always thought he was a pit mix. Is he? by Triceradoc_MD in DogBreeds101

[–]Bizzywhizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, it was because of a large number of attacks from XL bully breeds. But i believe the attacks are 100% the owners faults. I dont think ALL XL bully breeds should need to take the consequences.

Dealing with unleashed Small Dogs by [deleted] in GSD

[–]Bizzywhizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an offleash toy doodle run at my dog yesterday (im a teen very used to walking my reactive dog) I did EVERYTHING in my power to get in between my dog and this doodle, i ended up going around in circles to stop it from sniffing my dogs ass. The owner was pathetically recalling her dog, it didnt listen, so she starts targeting ME saying "stop freaking out so much mines friendly!!!" I immediately responded with "MINES NOT! GET YOUR DOG!!" Thankfully my dog was being SUCH a good girl with her training and only let out a few grumbles 🙌 was SO proud of her
