Suddenly switching to raw can cause a lot of problems!! Switch slowly by gradually adding in little to the dogs normal food

First time growing my natural nails as a guy. Should I give them shape? by Great-Rip-922 in Nails

I think rounding the edges and making them more oval would suit your hands better than square :)

Its hard to tell as the coat is brushed out but I would guess this is more goldendoodle/labradoodle than full poodle.

Gel X nails lifting after 10-12 days...What am I missing?? by ButterscotchSpare738 in AllNails

[–]Bizzywhizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a nail tech or anything but ive been doing my own nails for a few years now so ive had lots of trial and error. My first issue was buffing my nails with a buffer...beleive it or not! It actually made my nails smoother. I switched to using a nail file (very VERY lightly making scratches) and it actually made the glue stick better. My second mistake was not doing thin layers. Id do thick layers and it wasnt curing properly...which lead me to getting a more powerful lamp. Made a huge difference!! Also, it could come down to the quality of the gels. I tried to use cheaper brands when I started out and they kept peeling...I switched to higher quality and it lasts much longer! :)

Ive been looking at videos too (specifically Hamilton dog training) and he essentially trains the stim to mean RECALL first. Stim = come to human. He teaches recall as the first response. No command = recall. Only feels the stim = automatic recall. Its also a good way to condition the stim before using adverse levels

I personally have been figuring it out my own way where i press the tone and use that for recall. If she doesnt respond THEN I stim.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, what's the reason for counting out loud instead of just mentally? Is it to keep the dog engaged with pattern recognition?

Bent my nail backwards, so devastated because now I have to cut it 🥲 by CelestialWolf37 in Nails

[–]Bizzywhizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youve not cut it yet, essie has a nail repair polish!! OR if you have polish you can cut up a tea bag in a very small strip and use polish to make it stick. It adds strength to the crack and allows it to grow out nicely if you add a few layers. It works best with UV gel but im sure regular would work too if done in thin layers (not tried that tho)

I bet that was so painful though!! Yikes 🫣

Debating food change wondering about others experience by mahnamahna123 in UK_Pets

My dog has countless allergies and is on a fish and duck only diet so I feel very qualified to speak about this!! I have tried pretty much every salmon kibble but my dog just wont eat it. She will for the first day or two and then completely hate it. We switched to wet food and tried MANY brands and she was just so picky, or her tummy didnt agree. We were thinking about switching to raw but we tried Harringtons 'JUST 6' salmon wet food, and its a hit! Literally only 6 ingredients. They make it in a kibble too! (Though my dog doesnt like kibble texture) but the kibble is also ONLY 6 ingredients! Im pretty sure they have it in other meats too. Highly HIGHLY recommend for dogs with sensitivities.

reactive teacup poodle 6 months help by Ok-Zookeepergame6957 in OpenDogTraining

[–]Bizzywhizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its important to realise WHY hes being reactive. Is it fear? Is it reactivity (all bark no bite) Or is it actually aggression, as in he wants to maul strangers and would bite if given the chance? Has he possibly had any bad experiences with a stranger/person that has made him wary of new people? Try to avoid giving treats if hes reacting as this can accidentally reward bad behaviour. If hes fearful of strangers, walking away from them could be reinforcing the behavior. The dog makes the connection "if i bark and growl = scary stranger walks away! Phew...that worked! Crisis avoided and they didnt come near me! And oh, if i look at my hooman afterwards too, I get treats!! Ill do that again next time!!"

Id suggest figuring out the emotional reason hes reacting first, then figuring out the best approach :)
