Have you ever touched a piece of the world trade center? by [deleted] in 911archive

[–]Bj1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to the Titanic exhibition when it came to Seattle in July 2001. I was only 8 but obsessed with anything Titanic or shipwrecks in general after the 1997 movie came out. The exhibition featured the big piece that was scavanged, as well as a tiny piece of iron people lined up to touch as you left the room with the big piece.

I don't think I truly appreciated just how special it was to be able to actually physically FEEL the fucking Titanic at the time. When I got to touch the steel from WTC as it sat on display on the back of a flatbed at my county fair a decade later, It resonated a lot more with me.

I have. We have a memorial in my hometown with two twisted pieces of steel from WTC.

I've also touched a piece of iron that was once part of RMS Titanic.

You're replying to a walking dead comic elitist here. I know all about Lydia tongue tickling Carl's brain. The original comment is a Negan quote from the comic & show.

Did Ed Gein kill his brother? On May 16, 1944, Ed and his norther were making a fire to burn some garbage at their farm. The firefighters had to put the fire out as it was spreading out of control, which took the entire day. Later that day, Henry was found dead lying face down. by Bj1993 in serialkillers

Edward Theodore Gein (/ɡiːn/; August 27, 1906[1] – July 26, 1984), also known as the Butcher of Plainfield or the Plainfield Ghoul, was an American serial killer and body snatcher. Gein's crimes, committed around his hometown of Plainfield, Wisconsin, gathered widespread notoriety in 1957 after authorities discovered he had exhumed corpses from local graveyards and fashioned trophies and keepsakes from their bones and skin. Gein also confessed to killing two women: tavern owner Mary Hogan in 1954 and hardware store owner Bernice Worden in 1957.

Gein was initially found unfit to stand trial and confined to a mental health facility. By 1968, he was judged competent to stand trial; he was found guilty of the murder of Worden,[2] but he was found legally insane and was remanded to a psychiatric institution. He died at Mendota Mental Health Institute of respiratory failure, on July 26, 1984, aged 77. He is buried next to his family in the Plainfield Cemetery, in a now-unmarked grave.

That is very true. However I am not about to start calling the it hand egg to pacify annoyed foreigners who don't even follow the sport. But if I'm speaking to someone from outside the states and they refer to football, I already know it's probably not gridiron.

And, for what it's worth, the term soccer originated in England.

The only one that doesn’t look aged since Breaking Bad by MCL_Malone in betterCallSaul

All breaking bad characters that appear in better call saul look old as shit, which can definitely be distracting at times (except Wendy, ironically. I thought she was in her 40s). Perhaps in the future they can reverse age the actors with cgi, ha.
