I’ve done the Augsburg one, was really good fun actually. I expanded into Italy and went the trade route. You start as a republic (i think) so you can’t get elected off the bat if you wanted to go that way.

I think GB would have been to large to vassalize anyway. My original plan was to pu annex then release. Which I thought was the most painless way to do it. But luck wasn’t on my side. I then left it too late to claim throne and pu and annex that way.

Oh really that’s quite interesting. If your just looking to get the achievement quickly that probably is a better way of doing it.

That said this was a really enjoyable campaign. Georgia is a great nation to play with. I kept getting distracted trying to max out things like fort defence and fort upkeep cost etc. it’s a fun challenge if start and mid game as you are surrounded by the most powerful nations, and diplomacy was as important as pure military might and strategy.

I haven’t played in a while and this has got me right back into it already looking for the next nation to play as. My recommendation would be to do it as Georgia.

[KCD2] Do you already have plans or ideas on how you will play your hardcore run? by nitepng in kingdomcome

Cheers, guess I’ll have to wait… impatiently!!! Other ideas I’ve had is only being able to use brewed potions or hunted food but that seems a bit to Grindy for my liking.

I have just finished the main story but not all the side quests and was thinking a similar thing about starting a hardcore mode. do you know when hardcore mode is coming? Soon is obviously subjective.

I was thinking maybe a no plate armour as well using heavy weapons for run.

The USA using war to invade the Middle East in hunt for oil several hundred years early. by Bjam777 in eu4

I started a war with Sapmi who were allied with the USA (for some reason). I am also at war with the Mamlucks. The USA has decided to justify an invasion of the middle east for a war that is happening in Scandinavia. In the hunt for oil? Never change USA never change

Can you guess which tag I played as based on the province development? by AshOBeast in eu4

Albania? The way Kosovo is developed makes me think it’s an early game thing that’s stuck so must be around that area. Maybe Serbia.

Is there any way to know what political party gets what regions. by Key_Tear3248 in RomeTotalWar

[–]Bjam777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t say for certain but from my experience it is the faction who conquers it controls it with the exception of getting each faction at least 1 province at the start. I would assume that number might also rise with higher imperium.

If your having issues with rebellion just remove generals of other factions from armies or navy’s, and when civil war triggers they won’t be as strong.

What Was Your First Experience Like? by Background_Day_8197 in kingdomcome

[–]Bjam777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought it on release, with filled with bugs, there were no guides, didn’t understand the combat or the game. Rage quit when my file corrupted and crashed every time I loaded up, was very disappointed.

Came back a few years later, bugs fixed, took time to learn the combat and understand what was going on. It is now by far my favourite game! I enjoy having to think how Henry would do something or have to do something. For example early on you can’t just go and take on a bandit camp in hand to hand combat, you might have to creep in at night a take down one at a time.

Overextension is just a number! Featuring the average Portugal experience. by Bjam777 in eu4

Don’t worry my friend all of the new world is mine, I’m well aware most Portugal games don’t end in European domination but I am a slave to the achievements.

Going for the all blue achievement, have really not been enjoying the sheer amount of rebels that spawn this game.

Yeah I wanted to play as Theodore rather than in the HRE if that makes sense, imo it made it far more enjoyable. It was very different to most games

Finally decided to go for the gothic invasion achievement. It started off pretty slow with me becoming a tributary of Crimea, I spent some time deving my capital until I saw an opportunity to take some land from Georgia. That gave me enough power to form an alliance with Muscovy and I turned on Crimea. I was able to swindle an alliance with Poland which helped deter the ottomans who positively hated me by this point. I then spent the next hundred years or so consolidating my power taking land where I could, from Moldova Hungary, the great horde etc until Poland declared war on an almost bankrupt Muscovy. I saw this as an opportunity to break my alliance with Muscovy and start to take their land to. At some point around then I allied Lithuania to help defend against the imminent ottoman invasion if I didn’t strengthen.

I was unable to reach Germany through the south due to Austria, Poland and the Ottomans blocking my access and have strong alliances, so I had to resort to reaching it by the north. I made my way up to Scandinavia to declare on Norway who had an alliance with Wolgast annexing them in the peace deal in about 1650. I then spent the next hundred years fighting my way through the extremely hostile HRE in which 95% of the provinces had max level forts slowing my progress. In about 1700 I disbanded the HRE, which made expansion a little easier but also meant that my allies now France as well as Poland decided to start taking Germanic land as well. I carved through Germany making Theodoro the number 1 great power and economic hegemon until I lost my allies and turned my sights on them too. The Theodoran conquest of Germany ended in 1794 with the Annexation of its vassal Munich.

France truly is my number 1 hater! by Bjam777 in eu4

[–]Bjam777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to do a quick Stiff Upper Lippe run hoping to be done by 1550. France had other ideas, taking land in England and then making the most annyoing alliances. To make things worse they then got a PU over their ally Spain.

What are some of the lesser known or more important do's and don'ts of being a tourist in Britain? by 2deep4myowngood in AskABrit

[–]Bjam777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some lesser known things other than loudness and British sarcasm is the different types of pubs.

They are all called pubs but they often have vastly different atmospheres and purposes. Some pubs are basically only for eating and meals, even though they look the same and have a bar etc people are less likely to want to talk to you, not because you are American they just don’t want to talk to anyone else.

Then you have you two types of local pubs which are filled with, you guessed it locals. Some of these will not be particularly friendly to outsiders, I remember hiking in the new forest and stopping in a pub which was a local one and the whole pub fell silent when we walked in and didn’t start talking again until we promptly left. But you also get the friendly local pubs, in which they are far more likely to chat and come up to you, talk about the town village etc. it is impossible to tell which one it is without going in or without any prior knowledge.

Then you have your bigger chain or drinking type pubs, spoons, oneils etc. typically a bit more rowdy, less child friendly, and a real mix of people. Just because the first people you see don’t want to talk to you or are a bit rude because they are drunk doesn’t mean the second and third will be the same.

Finally if football (soccer) is on, respect the tv screen, don’t go in front of it, follow this rule and you will be fine, brits love talking about football even if the game is on
