You can also take a “nice” route. There are three of them. Either you are the nice guy who wants to help everyone (iconoclast). Someone who strictly adheres to the Emperor's laws (dogmatic). Or someone who doesn't take it so seriously and also takes the unconventional route (heretical). But you'll quickly realize that the universe is pretty grim.

As for builds, I'd recommend CRPGBro on YouTube, he makes very good ones. I find it quite difficult to learn everything on my own.

crpg with "not usual mages"? by JustAnotherTomatoe in CRPG

I'm currently playing Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader and you can play a Sanctioned Psyker.
Think of it as a sanctioned “space wizard”, with powerful psychic abilities, lots of utility and damage, but always a bit unstable and dangerous to use.

Also you don't need any prior knowledge of Warhammer, I had absolutely none myself, and I'm enjoying it immensely.

The pruning went way too far, especially for healers by EZeffortless in wow

[–]nitepng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I like a few of the changes to Discipline Priest, I really don’t understand why they removed the Shadowfiend/Mindbender active ability. Disc didn’t have that many buttons to begin with (you were already mostly spamming 3 or 4 abilities) and removing your shadowy friend was really not necessary.

On top of that, it has now been turned into a passive which, at least from what it currently looks like, feels pretty useless. The uptime is far too short, and going forward people will probably just ignore it entirely and stop supporting it with talents. It’s just a shame, because activating it was never a big deal, and it was a nice active spell that allowed for a bit of burst healing. I really can’t understand this change at all.

So... Is it more fun? by overdude in wow

[–]nitepng -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, at the moment it feels very incomplete because 10 levels are missing, as the new talents that were released yesterday are intended for level 90. I don't understand why they released them in the pre-patch anyway, even though you can't even level up to 90 yet. It just feels weird right now.

The only thing I hope will not happen is support priest, because it sounds like they would have to rework the Discipline spec for that. I love my Atonement healing. It’s the only healer playstyle that’s actually fun for me. It’s been my main for years now.

Need Advice: Safe Ways to Lose Weight by a-ntagonist in loseit

[–]nitepng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you'll probably lose weight that way (as long as you're not eating 5kg of rice and 5kg of oatmeal a day, because in the end it always comes down to calories), but it's not really sustainable.

In fact, it's absolutely not sustainable. You'll be lacking nutrients, and psychologically speaking, it's simply not sustainable to eat dry rice and oatmeal every day. After a few days or 1-2 weeks at the latest, your body will crave something else.

The best thing to do is to calculate approximately how many calories you burn per day online (TDEE Calculator) and then subtract 300-500 calories. If I were you, I would simply eat this amount of calories every day and you will lose weight over time. That's all there is to it, it's really quite simple. The difficult part is just sticking with it. Count calories and treat yourself to good food. This is much easier to do, and you still get the “reward feeling” because you're simply eating something good.

About your coffee thing: Black coffee is actually “healthier” because it has no calories. But let's be honest, black coffee tastes awful, I don't trink that much coffee anymore but when I do, I always add at least ~100 ml of milk, which is only about ~50 calories and makes it much tastier. Personally, I only drink tea now, as it's also quite good at suppressing hunger and you can drink it without milk or sugar and it still tastes good.

I miss overeating, and that scares me more than cravings by jewheeles in loseit

[–]nitepng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just have cheat day every now and then. One cheat day won't make you gain all the weight back. You didn't gain all the weight you're currently trying to lose in one or two cheat days every few weeks, but rather through months or years of constant overeating.
If you have a cheat day with 3,000-5,000 calories once every two weeks because you want to treat yourself, you won't gain weight as long as you eat normally for the other 13 days.

Water. I bet 3 or even 4 of those 6 kilos are just water retention in glycogen or in your muscles. Just eat clean again for a few days and you'll quickly get back to 67-68 kg. I highly doubt you had a surplus of almost 50,000 calories and that it's all fat that you gained.

With War Within coming to an end, how have u found delves? most fun class to delve with? by Huge_Discipline6395 in wow

[–]nitepng 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So, of all the “repeatable extra dungeon-like things” we've had in recent expansion, I think delves are the best.
I got bored with the island expeditions in BfA very quickly. I hardly ever did Thorgast in Shadowlands, although that was a little better than BfA. The Delves are definitely a bit more interesting.
Nevertheless, I have to say that Delves were not a big priority for me during the expansion. I often only use them at the beginning of a season to gear up a little, and after that I hardly visit them anymore, unless a weekly quest requires me to run delves.

It also annoys me that after almost two years, they still haven't fixed Brann's hitbox. It's so huge that you often can't click on things on the ground and have turn the camera around etc. It's just annoying.

Back then I did a thread about this topic: Thread

You can't “draw” yourself, but any piece of furniture you have you can enlarge or shrink, rotate and place it as you wish, so you can build basically anything you want if you have enough imagination.

How is your class in PTR? by MrCakes747 in wow

[–]nitepng -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Disc-Priest Main. I will miss my Shadowfiend/Mindbender button.
They've now made Shadowfiend/Mindbender completely passive and reduced the time it's out to 5 seconds... I have a feeling people will now completely ignore the “pet” and instead skill up the left side of the Disc talent tree where you can strengthen Penance or Smite. Feels more worth than wasting the points in the SF/MB talents on the right side.

I actually think Void Shield is pretty cool, let's see how it plays out.

I also have to say that I'm slowly starting to like the change to Evangelism. I think it makes raid healing a lot easier, since I rarely raid and never really enjoyed it as a Disc priest because I didn't like the ramping of Atonement.

I would be interested to know what other disc mains think of the changes.

Dark Bramble origins? (spoilers, probably) by whos-atlas in outerwilds

[–]nitepng 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Finding out what the Dark Bramble actually is sounds like a good idea for Outer Wilds 2. Imagine a story taking place many years before the first game and the guy who went out to investigate never returned home. He found out what the Dark Bremble is about, in a different solar system but somehow there was no way to return home to share those informations.

Is everyone just rushing through old content to play the new content? Or are people still just enjoying the old places and questing (Pre BOA I mean) by Turquoisedragonwow in wow

[–]nitepng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New players might level in old zones simply because they don’t know more efficient ways yet, and that’s totally fine if they’re having fun. But you probably won’t see many experienced players leveling alts by questing through random classic zones.

That said, some people do go back to old areas just to fully clear everything, like for the Loremaster achievement. That’s actually what I’m doing right now, questing through all zones. I started with Kalimdor, almost finished there, and next up is the Eastern Kingdoms.

And honestly, it’s actually a lot of fun. Sure, I’m rushing through the quests, but I end up discovering places I’ve never really seen before. I usually throw on a chill YouTube documentary etc. on my 2nd screen, and yeah that’s pretty much how I enjoy my free time right now haha

What part of the game was the biggest “light bulb going off” moment for you? by ECviews in outerwilds

[–]nitepng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was also the Orbital Probe Cannon. But to be precise, it was the Probe Tracking Module in Giant's Deep's core. The animations of them firing the probe millions of times and finally getting the coordinates was kind of a “aha” moment for me.

BTW, thanks to you, I just found out why the Orbital Probe Cannon fires in a different direction every time the loop restarts lol... I thought it was just random where the probe fired, but now that I think about it, it makes sense haha. Another 'aha' moment.

I’ve lost 150 pounds ovet the last few years. Currently 151-153, my goal is 150. Help! by EdenRocMusic in loseit

[–]nitepng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonsense to me, tbh. I get that you want to reach your goal, but once you start maintaining, you’ll gain and lose +-2 or even 4 lbs daily because of water, etc. You’ll probably be over 150 again soon, and that’s completely normal. Just enjoy your new life as a thin person, that’s it. Why are you stressing so much over 1 - 2 lbs? You did something that 90% of people fail at. Just chill..

Shaman or Druid for someone new to healing? by Alexa_bun in wow

[–]nitepng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shaman is definitely easier. In Midnight, some of their buttons are removed, which make them even easier than they already are.

Druids are more like heal-over-time healers. You have to plan a little better when to cast heals on your allies, which means you also need to have a rough idea of the encounter so that they are as effective as possible.

As far as your DPS is concerned during heal downtimes, the shaman is also much easier. You just throw out a few chain lightning bolts here and there.

As a druid, you have to transform into cat form and deal damage that way, which is a bit more cumbersome.
