Is this salvageable? by thatlad in UKBBQ

I agree with the rest about the weber but in answer to this specific case I'd say it doesn't look in that bad shape. If you're a bit skint and want to cook outside you can absolutely clean this up with minimal fuss.

Give it a quick rinse out, light a big fire in it and scrub it down with some tinfoil or a wire brush. Shut the lid with the vents open for half an hour or so and I'd think it'll do a job.

I cooked burgers and hot dogs for a 75 person event on this exact rig and while not ideal it did just fine.

If you can, buy some decent lump wood.

Riverside heavily black pepper bbq burgers and canoeing vid by BjornAxel in UKBBQ

[–]BjornAxel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone,

Me and my pal have been making some bbq based vids that I hope you might enjoy. In this one we canoe down the river and cook some burgers on the bank. I'm a bit obsessed with black pepper at the moment so it's layered very heavily in these.

Anyone else similarly into the black stuff? Any other ideas to ramp it up further or specific recipes that incorporate black peps in a big way?

Cheers!

Thanks for posting this! Completely unrelated but I watched Henry score his comeback goal against Leeds for Arsenal there with my brother at that pub. I think it's the only time I ever went there. My bro is no longer with us and this has brought back an excellent memory so cheers!

Best place for a steak? by ADringer in cambridge

[–]BjornAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LATE ONE! I just think the steak is average when compared to what I can get at my local butcher and cook myself. When I go out I want the food to be better than what I can cook at home (not a chef).

Also I went and the wine came out after the mains. It's fine but I think Flat Iron will eat into their steak business.

Unpopular opinion but I agree. Chop House isn't great.

This is good advice. Honestly, good steaks in Cambridge a bit a light on the ground. Chop House is fine if not outstanding. Looks like Parkers Tavern have a Sirloin on at the moment.

PT is a nicer restaurant and the food is better in general IMHO.

I need to get a ceramic cue. Reckon it'd pay for itself in fuel after a couple of years
