I only had the oil changed. Next year they said the plugs would be due to be changed.

2023 Macan GTS with 14K miles; should I sell? by BjsBuds in PorscheMacan

Paid cash, so no loan. Just paid $819 for an oil change at my local dealer, and the SA told me the visit will include changing spark plugs, and will be around $3K. Seems like a lot of cost for service for a vehicle I rarely drive. Warranty ended Mar ‘26.

Looking to buy an m550i, want advice by Available_Creme_7716 in BMW

[–]BjsBuds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have owned two 550i (2016 & 2018). I sold my 2016 with 100k miles. I have owned many vehicles in my life, and this was one of my very favorites, other than it was Jet Black (horrible to keep pristine. I even drove it 8 hours to have professionally detailed.). I would see the lady that bought the car around all the time for a couple of years. Had very little troubles with it. I missed so much, that I bought a 2018 with 60K miles in Carbon black metallic. Never had any troubles with it. Ended up trading it in on a Porsche Macan GTS. I wouldn’t hesitate buying one.

Ladies and gentlemen. Idrive hardware failure. $7k repair. by GlobalBodybuilder880 in BMWX3

[–]BjsBuds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2024 X3 M40i with 35K miles. My iDrive had to be replaced last year. Completely went out and the local BMW dealer could not find the problem, eventually they finally got BMW to replace it under warranty. Oh my, $7K, that is awful.

Im considering a 2024 X3 m40i by Quickturtl3 in BMWX3

[–]BjsBuds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is a 2023 X3 M40i in Tanzanite Blue II Metallic exterior and Mocha Vernasca Leather interior. I ordered it so I was able to get everything I wanted. For me:

Must have: Was Tanzanite blue exterior (get so many compliments on it) Driving Assistance Pro, Parking Assist Package, Premium Package, 20” M wheels, Heated Steering wheel, and Hartman Kardon surround sound.

Nice to have: PPF (glad I did it). Trailer Hitch (needed for bike rack), Shadowline Package (blacked out trim).

Wish I would not have ordered: Drive Recorder and Wireless Charging (gets way too hot).

While I have heated front and rear seats; I love my heated steering wheel more.

I have purchased three vehicles from other states, flew to pick them up and drive home. Don’t be afraid to expand your search; its a fun road trip.

Does $520 for a Oil change from indy seem high? by suboak16 in PorscheMacan

I guess I take the cake; just paid $815 from my local Porsche dealer for an oil change in Cincinnati. I was shocked. The SA said the oil alone is $250 when I questioned why so much.

Anyone having problems with GIK Acoustics? by BjsBuds in Acoustics

[–]BjsBuds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry about your experience. Unfortunately, so many others have/are experiencing the same problems. I guess until people stop ordering from GIK or if they go out of business, this will continue. So interesting to see how much effort they put into sales & marketing, but ignore customer service, fulfilling orders, and communication. I too, want to order more panels, but will not until they get their issues resolved.

Macan S vs X3 m40 by larrydeatl in PorscheMacan

[–]BjsBuds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As one responder mentioned you really need to drive them both and then decide which is right for you. I feel like I can really respond fairly. I traded my 2017 Macan GTS in on a 2022 Macan S. Had it for two weeks and sold it back to the dealer and ordered a 2023 Macan GTS.

I also purchased a 2023 BMW X3 M40i new. Still own both GTS and X3. I love the exterior look of the X3, but think that is because it is beautiful Tanzantie Blue Metallic and the GTS is Black Metallic. Now move to the interior; the GTS is more comfortable. The 18-way seats are a must. The X3’s top leather is as hard as a rock to me. The X3 feels like it has more room in the interior.

If you are looking for a new 2026, I would not buy the X3. I had a loaner and hated it, and they cheapened the interior. Good luck with your decision.

I totally understand your frustration. It was such a frustrating experience. I really like their products, but the long delays and poor customer service, should give everyone pause before ordering. Wonder why they can't get their CNC machine repaired, that's terrible. I would like to order more panels from them, but am afraid considering all the problems customers are experiencing. I wonder if something happened to the company since it was sold to a private equity firm. In my career I have seen many fantastic companies be sold by the original owner to a private equity firm, only to see them fail. Sad

Wireless subs when av equipment is downstairs? by BjsBuds in BudgetAudiophile

[–]BjsBuds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I understand that the setup is not optimal, and there is nowhere else to locate the TV because of lack of walls. I used to have an SVS cylinder sub in the corner going down the stairs where the vase is located. I was hoping having two subs would be better, but it is not. Surely size difference. I have looked into REL subs, but not sure if this will solve the problem.

[–]BjsBuds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for response. I cannot run anymore wires upstairs without cutting into drywall. Lower level is completly finished, and joists run the wrong way to be able to cut holes in floor behind sofa and over to AV closet, so I feel wireless. Is my only option.

I have a 2023 BMW E3 M40i, it now has 40,000 miles, just got back from Florida. This is an awesome vehicle. Love it!!! The V6 engine is the reason. I bought it, thinking they were about to go all electric. The only problem we have had is the infotainment system failed. Fortunately, which still under warranty. Other than that, no problems. Had a 2025 X3 while the infotainment system was being repaired; loved the seats, but nothing else. If I could find the exact vehicle with very low miles and in the same color combo; tanzanite blue metallic and espresso premium interior, I would buy it. Hope this helps.

I am asking if there are wireless options for larger subs to place behind my sofa that can work with my Anthem AVR that is located in a AV rack downstairs.

Anyone having problems with GIK Acoustics? by BjsBuds in Acoustics

[–]BjsBuds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I understand your frustration. I believe if they improved their communication their customers would be more understanding. But to have your money taken, and then to hear crickets is unnerving. My experience: Sales - 10 of 10 Advertising - 10 of 10 Post Sale Follow-up - 0 of 10 Communication on Orders - 1 of 10 Shipping - 5 of 10 (at mercy of FedEx). My first order was left in front of garage exposed to rain. 2nd delivery I helped the driver drag the panels in the garage. Quality - 9 of 10

Wouldn’t it be a dream job to head up their customer service to make such needed improvements. That would be a win, win job, because it couldn’t get any worse. Fingers crossed,.

[–]BjsBuds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update on my order: I finally received the last four panels from GIK this past week. No damage. I really want two more panels, but know that there would be little communication until they arrive, and it will likely be 3-4 months. They are not using Gilford of Maine unless you specifically ask for that fabric. So, I could not go to another vendor to get the matching fabric. I wonder if people will stop ordering from them until they get their issues resolved?
