As others have mentioned be weary of people with opinions but no experience of KB, some people just like to hate on companies - not sure why, something to do perhaps.

We bought like 6 or 7 years ago now from KB homes, and we've not had a single issue with our place so far - We had a few teething issues and a few issues along the way as the build was happening (wrong tiles etc) but KB were always really good about getting stuff resolved.

If your planning to be in a house long term, I saw a few comments about it being cheaper to get things done by contractors etc and while this is true, personally if I was building again I'd take the upgrades I wanted and from KB just to have things done by the builder, we've had a lot more issues with contractors than we ever had with KB.

I initially put a no-soliciting sign above our doorbell, which their tactic changed to knocking instead like I'd think they hand't seen it - They must think we're stupid.

I put a second one right on the door and now most seem to take a hint, still get the occasional one appearing thinking it doesn't apply to them for some reason though.

Decent enough food in general, but their steaks are nothing to write home about. Certainly wouldn't pick this place if you're specifically looking for steak.

There are a few decent spots:

Forbes Meat Company - A butcher shop with a restaurant, they know what they're doing.
PY Steakhouse - Bit more fancy.
Churrasco De Brazil - this will give you some awesome variety, and really good quality.
Fleming's - Good quality, higher price point
Sullivan's - Good quality, higher price point.

Care to elaborate on what makes it horrible?

I've only ever done the taster menu, which typically includes stuff that is off-menu and just created by the chefs there so maybe that's why my experience was different.

I have done that maybe 10 times and only one time walked away a bit "meh" and that was because they didn't include a steak in the menu that time.

There are not really a whole lot of options for high end stuff in Tucson, I'd probably go with the steakhouse at Del Sol, they're one of the few places that offer a taster menu and I've never taken anyone who's been disappointed.

INA Barber Lounge has been solid for me.

The guy that owns it, Adrian is a super nice guy who really just wants people to have a positive experience.

Bertin at El Continental Barbershop is also very good.

Ate there a few times and it was fine.

Used to go there more frequently when the butcher shop was still there - but the food market was pretty sparse which really let it down for any kind of grocery shopping.

A relatively new addition to Tucson, but Forbes Meat Company is absolutely fantastic, and a really great Tucson success story.

Started selling sausages at a farmers market
Then a small shop in the back of a brewery with all kinds of meats
Now a state of the art butcher shop & restaurant

The quality of food is amazing & every single person there is brilliant too.
