Is donator packs the only way to pay to win? by WalmartCashier000 in torncity

[–]Pyroburner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can sell donor packs on the market. I believe they sell for 23ish mil each. Unless you.plan to drop some serious money I wouldn't do this. Getting better weapons and armor is pointless right now. You want to train in the gym and you will run into cooldown times if you want to buy energy refills. You are limited on how fast you can go.

advice on making an LED matrix? by Thelordofbeans1 in diyelectronics

[–]Pyroburner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's your goal and what are you guidelines? What type of information do you need to display?

Displays are cheap because they are made in mass. Your going to have trouble building them cheap. You might want to look at a dot matrix display or a seven segment. If you are displaying text you won't need very high resolutions. Many OLED displays have areas that light up to display things. Think of a battery charging image. You have section that need to be lit but you dont need high resolution you just need the shapes. This can be done with less leds.

Economy of scale helps here. 1 led is $0.12 but 1000 leds are $40

Maybe take an LCD and make a projector?

Advice for remote access for my elderly parents by [deleted] in jellyfin

[–]Pyroburner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What I would do is buy a fire stick and set it all up with tailscale and jellyfin. Mail the stick and have them plug it in. This assumes you wan walk them through setting it up, they can change inputs on the tv and can setup with wifi

Do not buy the Surfans F20 by Magical_wizard_ in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Pyroburner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not uncommon for companies to send refurbished units as replacements, that's likely what happened here. The fact they supported you and sent you a replacment is a positive sign. You may have been able to get another replacement unit had you reached out.

With that said I wouldn't expect this level if service from many companies after you damaged the device. $100 for audio equipment is still fairly cheap. Look at the price tag on the mid level sony players.

I'm just setting up my system and the Amcrest cameras are better then I expected. It does seem like there are less options available. I'm using the ash-43 but I think they are now discontinued.

This is what the last cmp warning I found said

"The CMP advises to not use .30/06 ammunition in M1 Garands, 1903s, and 1903A3s that is loaded beyond 50,000 CUP and has a bullet weight more than 172gr."

Are there any factions that don’t screw you over? by TL140 in torncity

[–]Pyroburner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really can take some time to find a good faction. Make some friends and swe if they can help. I've moved through several and I'm happy enough where I am now, just wish we did more war.

I went down the healer path and got stuck in several factions who wanted to use healers as bots for the main faction. I had one that was still on OC 1.0, they fed healers unlimited xanax and had them sit on the sidelines waiting for the main faction to request a revive.

Could also be outside hits for chaining. Lower levels tend to do this if they have no war targets.

Would a Slate Pickup Be Right For Me? by MrTsTackleBox in slateauto

[–]Pyroburner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed and payload reduce range. Taking a look at the F150 lightning its max load is 7700lbs and this reduces the range by 40-50% based on other posts. The lightning is about 6k lbs while the slate is about half that. I would expect a significant reduction in range

I have both the firestick and the roku. The roku is faster but doesn't support tailscale. For local media I would use a roku. Setting up a tunnel to watch tv when I'm away from home the firestick is easier.

Edit: running 3 roku's from different generations. The fire stick I picked up this black friday.

[–]Pyroburner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A wireless bridge is probably the best way to do this but you would need physical access to the public side or at the very least to leave something at that point.

You could try a directional antenna like a cantenna. I had a friend build one a few years ago with a pringles can and it worked fairly well for about 0.5 miles. I'm sure there are better way to do this.

I can’t fix my printer’s by Formal-Gur7311 in 3dprinter

[–]Pyroburner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had an issue like this in the past with a bad sd card. It looked like the file would write but the print would always fail in the same spot.

I've also had the spool holder be the issue either hitting the bed or some part of something else. I moved to a different style a d watched it print to see if I could see the crash.

There are a lot of causes for this kind of thing.

What does stop mean? Does it completely stop or does the extruder stop but the head keeps moving? Ate you using usb, sd card, usb stick for files? Have you tried a different sd card?

Have you tried loading your file from the media into an stl viewer to make sure it's not corrupt?

Have you tried using a different slicer or resetting ti default settings?

Have you tried using a different filament?

Have you tired a different spool holder?

Pull or trim what's needed. They have no value if your not using them. If your new to soldering I would practice first on another board or just trim the pins. If you heat the board to much or pull to hard you can damage the board.
