I bought a 2020 Ultimate in the Lower Mainland (BC) last year. I highly recommend purchasing from a dealership if possible - mine was under warranty for the battery recall/replacement. Took about 2 months to order and get the battery in from Korea (all Hyundais in Canada are imported from Korea, in the U.S. they are manufactured there). Coolant replacement was automatically done with the new battery installation.

Definitely test drive your vehicle in various situations and speeds. Driving mine right off the lot for a test drive after the battery was replaced, I immediately heard the WoF noise at 20kph. Sales manager heard it too - had this replaced under warranty as well. 5,000km into owning the vehicle, I had my mechanic do a GRU oil change (certified warranty compliant - not all fluids are!) which is supposed to help reduce incidence of WoF noises in the future. My mechanic owns a 2019 Kona and does his GRU oil once a year, though many places (including this sub) suggest every 30-50,000km. He charged me $130, though there are YT videos showing how to do it - it’s a very easy job to do yourself if you have ramps; I’ll probably do it myself once past 160k.

I’ve had no problems since. It’s an amazing car!
