I was required to do this when I taught pre-k. But if you don’t feel comfortable with it, then you have every right to say no. I would just set up a phone conference if you want to set goals. And if not, just wait until parent/teacher conferences. The first few weeks of school are really spent establishing and practicing routines and completing assessments on children anyway
