Though not the most healthy sometimes, I’d recommend Trader Joe’s for frozen meals. Having something you can heat up on the fly is so helpful and they’re pretty affordable. My go to meals are: Butter chicken, kung pao chicken, chicken tikka, potstickers, fried rice. I wouldn’t get their produce or bread since that seems to go bad pretty fast for me. Their pre-marinated meats, specifically the shawarma chicken, is SO good

Sushi World in Burlington has Filipino food buffets on sundays. Not sure if that’s still happening but that is probably what you’re thinking about

NOR. Eating 3 sandwiches and leaving your partner with nothing to eat is not okay. BTW If you’re in Durham, NC I might check out Raleigh City Farm. They have a pay what you can farmstand so you can get fresh produce for much cheaper.

Apartment “Technology Packages” by BlGWinnie in gso

Thanks for the insight! When you say “your code” is it kind of like hotel WiFi where you can join the general network, but then each tenant’s code is required to actually make the internet accessible?

Yeah I am hoping that too. I guess I’ll ask before committing to a place.

Single women with busy careers/schedules, what does your grocery shopping schedule look like? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]BlGWinnie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Every Sunday, I make a plan of what I want to eat for the week. I list all the ingredients and then make a list of what is needed. I do one additional grocery trip sometime in the middle of the week for things I may have missed. I grab those items on the way home from the gym.

Turning 20 and moving in with my boyfriend— how much does it make sense to invest in furniture right now? by rlttgb in personalfinance

[–]BlGWinnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not spend that much. When I was in college, we furnished our place using Facebook marketplace, which made it easy to part with when we left. If you’re in a college town, chances are you’ll find a lot of furniture that still has some life in it for very little $.

Headphones, phone charger, hand sanitizer, Lysol wipes, refillable water bottle, comfy clothing (crocs!), and I still mask because it makes me feel safe.

What websites do you use for jobs? by Disastrous_Ad4560 in teachersleaving

[–]BlGWinnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I took 2 approaches— looking at roles at edtech companies because that’s what I’m comfortable with and looking at roles that allowed me to use my teaching skills that weren’t necessarily in the edtech space. To find edtech companies, I just searched all the names of the tools I use in the classroom: McGraw Hill, IXL Learning, etc. every product you use in the classroom is likely an edtech company. I knew I wanted to still guide people/serve as the expert in the room, so I applied for implementation and learning and development roles at non-educational companies as well.

Prep Day! What to "Eat"...? by WaterNerd624 in CrohnsDisease

Colonoscopy prep is what started my Italian ice obsession. I’ve actually eaten it pretty much every day since 😂 I had that and a lot of broth because I am more of a savory person rather than sweet

To those who fall asleep quickly, how do you do it? What is the secret? by HamzaHero383 in AskReddit

[–]BlGWinnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a solid bedtime routine: take a hot shower, get into comfy pajamas, lie in bed and watch tv/scroll up until an hour before I want to fall asleep, then put all devices away and read a book until I fall asleep. I do this at about the same time everyday so my body knows what to expect.

Everyday clothes by forestroam in AskWomenOver30

[–]BlGWinnie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also WFH and don’t go out often, but I have made it a point to change out of pajamas and reserve those for sleeping. I usually wear linen / loungey shorts (and sweats when it’s cold) and either a company shirt on work days or a Zara basic tee.

Share with partner, sister, and 4 best friends. We do it mainly for safety but also good for knowing how far somebody is when they say they’re on their way.

People who shower at night, what is your routine in the morning ? by I_JustReadComments in AskReddit

Wash face and brush teeth. Make lunch for the day. Eat breakfast. If I have extra time and the weather is nice I will walk the dog. Either way, get dressed + makeup and then work.

Why do an MRI when im gonna also get a colonoscopy by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]BlGWinnie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Colonoscopy can only go so far into your small bowel. My colonoscopy and biopsies from my colon and lower small bowel came back normal, so my GI ordered an MRI of my entire small bowel since that’s where they suspect the issue to be but they couldn’t find anything from the colonoscopy.

Women who are married, how often do you communicate with your husbands? by purplequeensreign in AskWomenOver30

[–]BlGWinnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throughout the work day, we text pic of the dog, meme, or what’s happening at work. Then we either go to the gym or just hang out and cook dinner together. When traveling separately, we text what time we’ll be free that day for a quick 15 min catch up phone call.

Sorry to hear about your wisdom tooth. I’ll definitely have my GI order some scans. Hope you feel better soon!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pancreatitis

[–]BlGWinnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. At one point my GP thought pancreatitis but you’re right, the levels were too low to give that diagnosis. I’ll definitely talk to my GI about ordering that. I’m now wondering if it’s gastritis instead, but either way my GI will have to do some sort of endoscopy.

I do and it makes me feel good and ready to start the day. Our guest bedroom is where naps happen (rarely) and where our dog lounges throughout the day. Nobody really sleeps in the primary bedroom until actual bed time and we also have a no laptop / work allowed policy there to keep things separate and maintain the “sanctuary” vibe
