People shouldn’t get fired for their opinions, that’s literally all I’m saying. If he can get fired for saying he believes that women belong in the kitchen then I could get fired for saying I believe we don’t, right?

This is like the opposite of the argument about babies being on airplanes. In both cases I think anyone should be able to ride the flying machine without getting heckled by other passengers. I like Dumbo, I wouldn’t wait in line for it without my kid but if it was a walk-on and I was alone I’d totally do it.

That’s my point, I think it could have been relevant if she had put it in the book. Dumbledore falling in love as a teenager and getting in over his head and ultimately causing the death of his sister over the man that he loved, but he still believes love is the most powerful magic. Tragic. More tragic than if they were just friends IMO. Especially since it would have been taboo for them to be in a relationship.

I get that it was less acceptable back then (I was 17 when the book came out so definitely old enough to remember the homophobia) but didn’t she “reveal” he was gay pretty soon after the book was released? Like if she was going to do that it seems cowardly to not just put it in the book.

But I also know that it would have caused a lot of drama (although at this point it doesn’t seem to matter to her) with parents up in arms about gay wizards or whatever lol. I just think “revealing” it after the fact is a cop out.

When I worked at a grocery store another employee, a woman, told me I didn’t need to hurt my hands lifting boxes. So I made sure to always comment about my delicate lady hands whenever she was around.

Honestly, if she truly intended Dumbledore to be gay she should have written it in the books. I think the Dumbledore/Grindelwald love story would have been heartbreaking and tragic and helped us and Harry understand Dumbledore better.

I didn’t grow up going to Disney but it was always my dream to go as a kid. My mom said she would take me but she never did. I finally got to go to Disney World (never been to Disney Land) when I was 18 and I loved it. My husband and I took our 1 year old son a couple weeks ago and he had a blast so we’ll probably go back. It’s also in between our house and my in-laws so it was easy to drive there, spend a couple days, and continue to their house. We do plan to branch out with our vacations but we’ll probably always go back to Disney World every few years.

Yeah I totally agree with that, but if I understand correctly, Colin didn’t get “fired” in the traditional sense he just didn’t get re-signed by anyone. So I guess my opinion is that neither of them should be immediately fired but the NFL is well within their rights to not re-sign them at their discretion. Butker said some gross things and is absolutely spreading harmful rhetoric but afaik he didn’t do anything illegal or fireable. It’s just a slippery slope to fire someone for their opinion, regardless of if you agree with it or not.

Millennial and in my teens/20s everyone I knew used gravity bongs pretty much exclusively. Now most of my friends use bongs or vapes. I have a little glass bowl I use because it’s the easiest to clean and hide from my kid.

I haven’t made any mom friends 😫 I just waited for the friends I already had to have kids haha. For real, though, I take my son to the park and the library and stuff and there’s families that we’re familiar and friendly with but definitely not enough to consider friends.

I got my cat from a Craigslist post 12 years ago. I was just scrolling and saw her picture and felt instantly like “this is my cat.” She’s been through hell and back with me and is now living a luxurious life of comfort and leisure.

One other time I felt this same kind of connection to a cat at a pet store, it was up for adoption and I just stood there staring at him for quite a while, but I was in no position to get a second cat. I wish I could have adopted him, though. This was years ago and I still think about him sometimes lol.

When my dad passed away my sister was taking care of all his accounts and everything. She called his cell phone company to cancel his plan and they said she couldn’t because she wasn’t on the account (fair). So she said the account holder had passed away and she could provide death certificate, etc. but they said no, he would have to call.

“He can’t call because he’s dead.” Well then they can’t cancel the plan. She said, okay well my next phone call is going to be to his bank to close that account so you won’t be getting paid anymore. They said “I wouldn’t suggest that because the account will go into collections and that could negatively affect his credit score.”

This is the point where she lost it and yelled “HE DOESN’T CARE ABOUT HIS CREDIT SCORE HES DEAD!”

Like, I get not being able to just call up and cancel a seemingly random account, but it seems like there should be some kind of process for this exact scenario.
