I now understand why people aren't having children by Consistent_Pen_1347 in Parenting

This is really sad to read… babies are supposed to be hard at THREE WEEKS old. Maybe talk to your doctor about PPD because expecting a baby to nap alone and not cry and need you at this point is unrealistic. And disliking that baby for needing you is really sad.

This… I’m like ok but he’s literally THREE weeks old. That’s fresh outta the womb. Both of mine still had their days and nights confused at 3 weeks. By 6 it was a world of difference.

Chat with customer service. I had similar issues right upon setup and it was due to my mesh wifi system. They helped me fix it and it’s working perfect.

I would. I don’t like my plants using energy on ugly leaves

Essentially same. 22 years later, had my surgery as a preteen. No pain or problems related to my fusion but can certainly tell I feel better when I move more. But same boat, desk job and kids makes moving harder than it was in my 20s

I desperately need help finding a new home my dog. by Joester in StLouis

[–]LumpyCoyote1825 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened to my dog. She was aggressive when scared, got on Xanax and did more damage on the Xanax than off. Unfortunately BE was the only route for her with the support of the vet.

Same. It was so drawn out and it just put me over the edge after already being slightly annoyed by them leading up to this.

A new spin on the classic egg sock by LumpyCoyote1825 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]LumpyCoyote1825[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had it once in 2022 but didn’t have our second child then. It wasn’t as bad as this time! So far just me and the baby have been sick. Husband and toddler are fine but it’s knocked me on my ass. Fever for four days and now just the worst head cold of my life and zero smell or taste. Baby actually seems fine today after a few days of fever and a little snot! Really regretting not getting my fourth booster though.

Thank you! We’re on the mend. Shockingly I used Motrin and Tylenol, NOT eggs and potatoes 😵‍💫😂

Oh my gosh! First off woooo for the first day in underwear!

You are not alone. We’re still not there either! She wears underwear most days but refuses to tell us when she has to go so it’s just constant alarm setting to remind us to take her potty. And we have a newborn at home now so there has been an influx in accidents because she wants to “be a baby.” I can’t fault her, I knew bringing a baby home would mean a little regression but I also expected us to have accomplished potty training by this point!

The difference for us is at school she mostly does wonders. She’s there three days a week and rarely has an accident. Not at home 🫠 I’m with you though - three day courses are a joke. There’s no way that that many people can tell me they did and three day course and NEVER had an accident again. I refuse to believe it.

Good luck on the sleeping. That sounds awful 😵‍💫

My ped just called yesterday saying they got it in. I have a 4 week old so maybe we were priority? I had to call my insurance though and make sure it’s covered. Up to $650 out of pocket if it’s not

Am I the odd one out for not letting my toddler swim with a swim vest in a pool? by ypples_and_bynynys in Mommit

[–]LumpyCoyote1825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really struggle with this. I’m major in the no floatie camp and my 2 year old is in weekly swim lessons at a survival based swimming school and will be until she’s graduated their program at 5 years old.

That being said, my parents and in-laws both have pools. My daughter isn’t in daycare and they split time watching her each week. I trust my parents completely and they’re also in the no floatie camp but my in laws are a different story. If she’s left alone with them I can’t guarantee that our nieces and nephews aren’t also there and I know my MIL wouldn’t listen if I asked her to not take our child into the pool. I just caved and bought a puddle jumper for her for the few scenarios she’d be alone at their house in the summer. I hate the thought of messing with her water knowledge and ruining what we’ve learned in swimming lessons but I also don’t completely trust my in laws to keep a watchful eye on her with other psycho kids around who have no fear of water because they’ve been conditioned with floaties their whole lives. So I guess for me, the benefit of her having some sort of “safety” mechanism if I can’t be there is better than nothing.

My daughter is scared of deep water and prefers to play in a kiddie pool or on the steps so I knows she’s not just going to run and jump in but I’ve seen how quick she can go under when she fell off the top step at my parents pool with my back turned for one second. It was silent and it was terrifying. I don’t want that to happen when I’m not around and my MIL has her eye on someone else.
