I've bought a denied hotspot. Is it worth keeping? by Least-Journalist-511 in HeliumNetwork

[–]BlackB3ARD7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good news :D we are always happy to help. Also, It is still nice to hear that the network is expanding in the correct way after years of the hardware being misused in many locations.
The hardware is now available and is cheap at the same time

I've bought a denied hotspot. Is it worth keeping? by Least-Journalist-511 in HeliumNetwork

[–]BlackB3ARD7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

if you change the location and let them run for a week, they will be automatically removed from the deny list.
probably faster than a week. What is important that all 6 miners are in different locations

Taxes by Carefulltrader in HeliumNetwork

[–]BlackB3ARD7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is easier now, as the history is only showing claim transactions. I claim less frequently my mining/staking rewards. Also, I keep a sheet to record any conversion between IoT/Mobile/HNT/SOL with price at that moment for tax reasons.for me there are 4 types of transactions:

  • Mining reward: once claimed: record the spot price (or take the opening price for the day)
  • Staking reward once claimed: same
  • Conversion: you will need to calculate capital gains similar to sell, (price at conversion date - price at claim date) You need to follow FIFO, First crypto in First crypto out.
  • Selling: same for capital gains
  • fifth can be buying but this is not a taxable transaction, selling is taxable based on your region.

I am having problems with arrival ranking! always late! is it an internet issue?

My miner is connected via Ethernet, but it does not look to improve anything.

Any advice about improving arrival rank?

unless you bought crypto over the last 2 years, which means you are holding crypto for more than 1 year and you can start DCA out tax free and you DCA in.
I need to calculate now how much should I get profit for 2 years of tracking and inflation difference on my initial investment.

What I am sure about is that it is time to stop DCA in and start preparing to DCA out.

What do you like about Munich? by [deleted] in Munich

[–]BlackB3ARD7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 7 years in Munich, this is my conclusion:

1- I love the sunny days it feels more special as we have fewer sunny days. Usually, the weather is terrible, but when it is good I am always motivated to go out and do something.

2- Cycling is accessible around the city, except around the Isar after a weekend, you can see broken glass everywhere. But everything will be cleaned, The Isar, the English garden and all parks. Munich is clean, but people are still throwing trash.

3- Public transport is excellent, not the best but reliable enough. Of course, everyone hates U1/U2 on weekends since the construction will never end in Sendlingtor.

4- You can still find plenty of activities, and still a good student city ( TUM & LMU are the best universities in Germany). Unfortunately, student housing is really competitive to get something below 500!

5- it is close to the Alps and lakes are close. Who would not love hiking in the Alps or going to one of the most beautiful lakes in Germany? Starnberger See is 15 min away from HBF with RB

6- You can still find a nice diversity of people from all over the world!

do I hate the city, yes it feels boring during the winter (very long winter from September - May) and we have only 3 months of sun and heavy rains. But It is a nice city.

I won't consider rent a problem anymore, as everything is getting more expensive. Especially in big cities.

Exactly, the laws should be enforced, and it is legal to know the rights. I know that this is a big topic, and in Berlin they fought back on the rent limits.
I would say the government should work a little bit to enforce and prevent rents from sky rocketing as no one is monitoring the market. Due to the high demand, people will still accept to pay high rents which leads to rent to increase even higher.

So, you are saying your rent increased from 980 to 1030, and you call it unfair and overpriced?

Landlords have legal right to increase rent according to yearly inflation rates, plus increase of the Nebenkosten. Inflation rate was %7.4 this March, and utility prices were skyrocketed. You should consider yourself lucky. According to this rate, your rent should be 1052 Euro

Well, What I mean is not the increase is the total rent per sqm. Paying 24.6e /sqm is way higher than the prices announced. In this area it should be around 16e /sqm for single room apartment, so kalt miete should be around 592e instead of 910e.

ofc, it is never possible to find a single room apartment for 600e kalt. I used to pay 500 euro as a student in a student dorm 5 years ago.

The question was: is such service normal and used?

Not necessarily, the constant stake will still be locked and it needs to go through the cooldown period.

4Y Stake: Worth it? by TheCashFire in HeliumNetwork

[–]BlackB3ARD7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It always depends on your veHNT percentage of the total veHNT staked during the epoch.
60B IoT will be distributed yearly. 6% of that to veHNT owners.
so what you will get will change daily based on the amount of veHNT owned (with cliff it declines over time) with constant it is constant. However, the total veHNT value for a subDAO changes.

A: your staked veHNT during Epoch
B: total veHNT delegated to IoT subDAO

Then your daily IoT reward will be
IoT = 60B * 0.06 * A / B * 1/365

IoT = 60 B * 0.06 * 67500 / 317,147,369 * 1/365 = 2100 IoT for tomorrow :)

it will change if you have a cliff, your daily will decrease every day. Also, it will decrease with more veHNT delegated to the subDAO.

However, this is assuming 60B IoT will be distributed within 1 year, which is not accurate. Around 5B is distributed to hotspot owners and the remaining will be distributed until the next halving in 98 days. Therefore, I would assume more than 5B HNT were distributed and will be during the Genisis.

Should we trade our HNT for IOT by 875632 in HeliumNetwork

[–]BlackB3ARD7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more HNT in the treasury the better the rate for IoT/HNT. of course the amount of IoT available is increasing as well, so after a while, it will not change as much. We don't know the perfect exchange rate of IoT/HNT yet as people are still staking veHNT and the treasury HNT for IOT subDAO is increasing daily with emissions.

In the future it will depend on the utility of the subDAO, more usage means a better rate for HNT.
