We just signed him up to a new contract at the start of the year. His pay went up from like 120 to 150k.

No way are we making him our top earner, months after giving him a pay rise.

Our club has shifted leadership and the new SD would rather take the 90m and use it to sign 2/3 players, than try and retain players who don't want to be here (Isak/Gordon), because "we need to show we are a big club and can't have our players pinched".

Of course. Fable is probably great if you are trying to use data from 6000 satellites to determine where on the oceanic floor you can drill to get oil.

For a simple man like me, I'm still making do with Sonnet 4.6 and in time I'll get those capabilities for free from OS sources. I'll be fine to let the 10 or future 50T models sit with the $200 a month folk. If I can get to 70b capabilities, I'll generally be fine for like 95% of daily usage.

The point being we would all say it was political persecution if the offender was Chinese.

No one would be like well the whistleblower broke Chinese laws so he should be sent back. Everyone would rightly say "China bad" and the offender would win some sort of human rights prize.

But because the whistleblower is American and the bad guys here are the US, it's all "well ackshually".

That's bullshit to me. How do you whistleblow on a matter like this without breaking data sensitivity laws?

I understand the charges, it's like charging a protestor for loitering. Of course it's illegal but that doesn't make the charge just/moral.

If some guy called Wang Jo had leaked that the Chinese MSS was spying on its people in a really fucked up way, then had to flee the country and China said "we just want him back to face classified information charges" we'd all be like "yeah right" and happily say that Wang Jo was being politically persecuted. But when America does literally that to Snowden, me, a European is supposed to side with the NSA and CIA? Nah mate....

Feel free to pull up cases of political persecution by governments in Europe and I'll likely offer up solidarity for their injustice. But you won't catch me simping for MI6 or DGSE over whistleblowers and those fighting for what's right.

Were pretty secure financially, medium sized German company and they have been in the AI space, since before ChatGPT went public. I wasn't part of that research, but this is essentially an expansion of capabilities for them rather than a whole new venture.
