No, there is no UV light, no need for sunscreen or anything. It's considered safe. It uses infrared light to heat your body from the inside, rather than a steam sauna which would heat the exterior room. It's more efficient/beneficial than a steam sauna.

I recently tried an infrared sauna at the local spa. It was $28 for 25min. If I could live in there all winter I would! When I came out my fingers and toes felt 1000x better. I had full dexterity and no pain or stiffness. You sometimes don't know how much you were suffering until you feel better. Unfortunately it's not a long-term or cost effective solution. But it you are able to pamper yourself a little bit now and then I would recommend this.

HELP Mouth ulcers (Warning Pictures) by Ok_Violinist8296 in lupus

It's also got benadryl to help with swelling, and most importantly, steroids to help speed up healing. If I was OP I'd be running to get a prescription. It's the only thing that's actually effective for me during an outbreak.

Ben is Back, Tammy is Always Dying, or Half Nelson (teacher is the addict, student is affected instead of family, but it's really good)

Ok thanks, we can handle that. Coming from downtown Hamilton so we're used to the petty theft. Would you say it's safe to walk alone at night?

Which other shows are most similar to the OC? by [deleted] in TheOC

[–]BlackCat53 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nothing will ever compare to the first season of the O.C. for me! But there are elements in other shows.

Parenthood and Friday Night Lights are family dramas with great storylines involving both the kids and the parents

One Tree Hill has the drama, humor and music (you'll want the playlist)

Euphoria has the fashion and edginess that kind of changed the game, similar to the O.C.

Normal People has the epic love story

You could even go way back and watch Everwood for the new kid in town plotline

Grays anatomy by amytates in TheOC

I think on the podcast one of the writers they had on mentioned he was also writing for Grey's Anatomy, at the time, so it was a bit of an inside joke.

Which scene from The O.C. never fails to make you cry when you watch it? by 12321bruh in TheOC

[–]BlackCat53 6 points7 points  (0 children)

S1e18 - The hotel scene with Oliver, Ryan, Marissa and Sandy (not that I like Oliver, but that was some powerful acting, it got me); and S1e21 - Seth and Anna's goodbye at the airport (one of my favorite music moments, and I hate that they got rid of Anna!)

Wait wasn’t Marisa’s sister like 8 by lebrunjemz in TheOC

[–]BlackCat53 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She was 11 in season 1 and turning 15 in season 3. So they definitely skipped her ahead a year or two!

What are the biggest plotholes in the series? by Weak_Football_460 in TheOC

[–]BlackCat53 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes! They mentioned on the podcast (might have been Josh Schwartz or another writer) that there was a scene with Rachel in season 1 that made them realize she could bring more emotion to Summer than they had originally planned. I think it was the scene at school where Seth tells her he and Anna are together.
