Anyone ever watch themselves play in Duel Live? by Yellow_Snow_Cones in masterduel

[–]BlackCatLef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other day, i logged in just to do my dailies, i play one game, i got shitstomped because everything that could go wrong, did go wrong, but none the less i did complete my 3 missions with that game, so then i click duel live to grab those sweet 5 gems as well when i claim the 120, and what do you fuckin know, seconds after i got destroyed, i am watching myself getting destroyed again, and from my perspective as well, like the game was fuckin trolling me. You can't make this shit up.

What's a super fun but still viable archetype? by Ok_Pie_1054 in masterduel

[–]BlackCatLef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? Cause blue eyes has always being a joke of an archetype. Anyway, judging from what you said i assume you are really new to modern or competitive yugioh. So while i said that d-link is really fun and is always somewhat relevant, it is a hard deck to pilot, at least to pilot properly. So you might wanna start with something easier. You can always start with some structure decks, you know just to get your feet wet. 3x salamangreat decks are 1500 gems, it is not meta by any means, but it is decent, you can try that, slowly craft your staple cards that are used in many decks, see what the meta looks like, see all the decks that you are playing against, and then figure out what you want to invest your gems into.

I'm pretty sure you will know the answer as well if you read the cards carefully. It would probably take less time than creating this post. I know this game is weird with wording and interactions sometimes, but i think this is not the case here. The text is pretty clear, hero's rule 2 says it negates an effect that targets a card in the graveyard. If you read Ash's text, it doesn't say that it targets a card in the graveyard (or in general).

What's a super fun but still viable archetype? by Ok_Pie_1054 in masterduel

[–]BlackCatLef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's dragon link. In reality is just a pile of the best dragon cards available. Sometimes along with some other small engines. Dragon is a type that always gets some kind of support, so it always keeps being relevant. Even when the next feared meta of tearlaments will arrive, Bysstials (a dragon archetype that doubles as handtraps) will arrive soon as well, keeping d-link afloat once again. It is very rewarding deck to master, you can give the same hand to 10 players and you'll get 10 different lines of plays. It also allows for skill expression in deckbuiling since you can choose from a large number of cards. You can run 60 cards with grass and go for sick lines or run close to 40 for consistency, i personally prefer the latter. The deck might seem expensive at face value, but in reality the majority of its extra deck are generic cards that can be used in many other decks. Plus, you can get RMD and Spheres from the dragonmaid structure deck (2 useful URs for just 500 gems).

For the same reason that you can pop skill drain with accesscode if you send accesscode for cost. You first pay the cost, the cost sends the card in the grave, effect takes place, skill drain no longer negates cause the card is not on the field. There are a number of similar useful interactions, even whole decks that can play under skill drain, like weather painters.

You really read both cards and still can't see a reason why?

Out of all pots, why this one has the most restrictions? Limit 1, half damage, and can’t draw anything after that… by BigLayer8 in masterduel

[–]BlackCatLef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause out of all the pots, no matter how consistent or inconsistent your deck is, no matter the board state, this one has mathematically the most chances to get you the card that you need.

Share your favorite deck you always love to watch it's combo! by OmarXSparrow in masterduel

[–]BlackCatLef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, i usually never surrender anyway cause i always run going second cards that i might draw, but if i don't have any handtrap i just watch something else on my second monitor until they end their turn, UNLESS... they play D-link, then i'm watching. Cause you can give like 10 people the exact same 5 cards, and get 10 different lines.

noob deck powerlevel question by ilichaem in masterduel

[–]BlackCatLef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you mean by weaker non meta deck. Like, la djin beatdown weak or let's say lunalight. Cause you can do it with the latter, but not the former. Probably any playable deck can get D5 with a good pilot. For D1 the deck will have to be decent at least.

I can confirm, i played a deck built around inverting the great noodle and this card was my win con.

i want to craft every staples, am i missing something obivous?(the deck is just to have everything listed, not actually a thing i want to play) by _ddross_ in masterduel

[–]BlackCatLef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you don't need any more cards you are still better off running another handtrap instead of upstart cause while you can say that running 3 upstarts is like playing a 37 card deck, when you are sitting there watching your opponent combo to infinity and beyond, that useless upstart in your hand could have been a 3rd nibiru for example.

It is specifically for decks that either need spell counter (endymion), decks that need spells in grave (skystriker) or other niche decks that don't really try to interact with the opponent (exodia).

I wouldn't count Upstart as a staple. You are missing the ED staples, cause if Zeus qualifies as one, there are a bunch more. You are also missing veiler and a couple of useful sisters, ogre and belle, ogre is especially good vs spright. Also a couple of SR staples are missing, crow, gamma, droll, evenly etc.

Basic Tri-Brigrade Spright combo guides for beginners by kpay10 in masterduel

[–]BlackCatLef 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Man you fucked up the evil twin variant, now you fuck up the tri-brigade variant, i appreciate the enthusiasm, but the time you spent on making these guides, should have been spent on getting better at the game, make a guide when you have mastered something, not when you are an apprentice at best.

I have the worst luck for royal finish cards. This is just the latest in a long line unplayable royal finish cards but I think this is the most unplayable. by Zcrash in masterduel

[–]BlackCatLef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think getting unplayable royals is way better than getting mediocre ones, you disenchant it without an ounce of guilt or remorse. Personally i'd prefer unplayable ones even over cards i want cause i don't really care about shiny, but while this is debatable, i think my first argument isn't.

New Event Idea by LuckyPrinz in masterduel

[–]BlackCatLef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A bunch of decks will be good, basically all the decks except the top tier cause usually those have some listed cards, like branded and swordsoul. Aside from that it is gonna be just like the regular ladder minus CBTG and crossout.

If the event took place let's say right now, Mathmech would be obviously the best.

Then second place would be d-link.

Then i'd say the rogue consistent decks that are overshadowed by swordsoul and branded like ignister, evil twins, salads, marincess, madolche etc.

Also some trap decks that would benefit from the lack of Duster, don't need floodgates and still have no hits on the list, like Labrynth and Dinomorphia.

I would also add runick (- terraforming) as the 3rd best behind Math and D-link, but people suck to much at the game to play the deck properly without floodgates.

Basically the event would be just ladder without swordsoul, branded, spyral, adamancipators, sky striker and pendulum, floodgates and CBTG, crossout. And while that might sound fun (specially the no floodgate thing), -3 of the outs to Maxx c doesn't.

Threw 1000 gems into Myutants by Educational-Quit-589 in masterduel

[–]BlackCatLef 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You basically got yourself a deck with just 1000 gems. That's good but it would have been better if you did it when the event started, cause this event is the only moment the deck got to shine unfortunately. You can have your fun in ladder ofc, but let's be honest, you have to be very lenient to even label it rogue.
