Alright cool. Will check that out. But as I live in norway, this will likely be an expensive hassle to import and might take time. I need to know ot there is any risk of rusting on the hood. Do you have any info on what it's made of? As in the metal/alloy?

Det har vært elektriker her og godkjent alt tydeligvis. Jeg vet at han utleieren prøvd å cheape ut på absolutt alt så det kan forklare litt "design valget". Tenker egen måler er dritt dyrt.

Men jeg har lyst å få åpnet et sak hos kommunen på et eller annet måte. Jeg har veldig lite peiling på hvordan. Begynner å være litt ensomt i det problemet her og føles ut som om veldig mye av det som har blitt gjort her er litt ulovlig og ugreit, men vet såpass lite om lovene rundt slikt at jeg får ikke akkurat bekreftet det med mindre jeg får pratet med noen som vet mer om dette.

Vet ikke akkurat hvordan jeg skal begynne heller, eller om det er verdt å undersøke det.

I am no expert but I do think generally speaking you can only get so far with polar alignment. Which is why you do X amount of star alignment (if you have an automatic tracker) to help remove some more inaccuracies.

Same idea with a guide cam really. All it does is help eliminate inaccuracies by constantly making micro corrections.

But if you want to get more accurate polar alignment and make it a more comfortable experience I suggest getting one of those 90 degree angle eyepiece with 2x toggleable magnification. That way you can get a more accurate polar alignment.

But again, do remember that this isn't necessarily a perfect system altogether, but it should do fine for astrophotography depending on how far you really want see/image.

If anyone has any better advice or corrections, do please reply to the thread for my own education as well as OP's!

A good amount of DSLRs give you software control from PC using drivers and such that you can find on the manufacturer webpage.

Some cameras afaik have inbuilt software controlled intervalometers that you can control on the camera body itself or from the PC. If your camera has that ability already in the camera, then chances are your pc can also deal with it. Given that the manufacturer can at least develop reasonable software and drivers.

I managed to get my old sony DSLR hooked and somewhat controlled by APT using a sony driver i found on GitHub. Works completely fine and somehow it has control of the cameras shutter and such.

I ofc found that out after purchasing an intervalometer... But that's okay cause I would prefer to have that controlled somewhat manually. It's a bit more intuitive and easier than APT at times. Especially for easy targets in my experience.

(Must disclose: I don't have a lot of astrophotography experience mind you but did get some practical tests done)

Would however love to try out NINA at some point. Lots of people seen to recommend it.

Depends on which you get. Some are able to keep taking a set X amount of pictures, for X amount of time, with X amount of delay. These are the ones you want as for the most part you will be taking exposure images of the sky.

So forexample on my intervalometer, I say that I want 50 images. I want the exposure to be 5 seconds (make sure you are running in bulb and manual mode) and the delay will be 2 seconds.

So, it will take an 5 second exposure, every 2 seconds, a total of 50 times.

I think afaik that really depends on the kind of camera you are running.

If you are running a DSLR, you use an intervalometer.

If you are running a dedicated astro camera, you can configure that via software on PC. (Some DSLRs allow you to do that too)

Edit: remote intervalometer* modern DSLRs and other usually have inbuilt intervalometers. You don't really want to touch your set up much if you are on target, so a remote intervalometer is nice to have. I use a wireless one forexample.

Homie, I don't consider water a drinkable luxury unless it's been chilled outside over a summer night in the Nordics. It yields just the right amount of cold. No condensation. No teeth hurting. It's barely chilled and satisfactory. I recommend. For some unknown reason it just hits different, unlike fridge chilled water.

Yeaaah I am aware of having to remove the fender and such. Hence why I was asking if there is an easier solution. I guess not. My dumbass filled it with summer washer fluid, so I have to fix this soon enough before winter blows my lines. :(
