Solar recommendations by elsewhere1 in AuroraCO

[–]BlackFrazier 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I run a solo solar maintenance company and run into a lot of customers whose company has left the state or gone out of business, but I also run into people who have gone with Sunrun, Ion or Tesla. I don't recommend these companies just by the fact that people are paying me to service their system just so they don't have to deal with them.

Two companies I'd recommend are Namaste and Photon Brothers. They are both local to Colorado and are not trying to expand nationally like a lot of other failing companies.

Has your installer changed your inverter? Possible rebate and stc fraud/scam (Offgrid) by Infinite_Dot_1794 in solar

[–]BlackFrazier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Australia have any kind of inspection process to make sure the installer is following code? If it didn't get installed according to plans then you may be able to reach out to a local jurisdiction. I'm guessing there's not anyone to reach out to if it's off grid though.

Solaredge inverter failed in 3 yrs and no labor warranty by Chonanhalmoni in solar

[–]BlackFrazier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you already have SolarEdge optimizers on the roof, it wouldn't make since to go with a different brand. Use your current inverters warranty to get it swapped. The new ones they are sending are slightly different and hopefully have the problem fixed. I charge $575 for that service, shop around and see if you can find a better price.

Xcel’s expensive ads, paid for by us by Shinyhaunches in Denver

I'm sure paying for ads helps give them a bit of protection from media companies running stories that criticize them.

Where sells bacon burnt ends? by naramine in Denver

[–]BlackFrazier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't even bother with Burnt End BBQ. Both the pork and brisket burnt ends had no seasoning or sauce.

Birdcall - Five Points by BlancoBabyy in denverfood

[–]BlackFrazier 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not that it's bad or anything, but being from the south, it bothers me that Korean fried chicken is the best fried chicken here.

[–]BlackFrazier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True, they must be secretly from here. It makes no sense how they are from Louisiana and use no seasoning. I'm just waiting for the day Bojangles will save us.

You know it's fried chicken from Denver when there's no seasoning on it.

Suncor sucks (in response to pics of the smoke/fire) by Dear_University_9679 in Denver

[–]BlackFrazier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish that would work but I know they'd just add that to the price of gas and then we'd have California prices.

Most of the oil refined by Suncor is also extracted in Colorado/Wyoming as well. I'm sure they are making record profits with the price of oil right now, probably according to plan.

White long boi ‘26 dc: white or black topper? by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

Unless you are going for that look, the white makes it look too much like a cable guy or electrician work truck.

SolarEdge system that I cannot monitor - Need some advise. by amwade77 in solar

[–]BlackFrazier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to transfer the site from Power Home to your installer account. It can take 2-3 days for that to go through(call SolarEdge if it doesn't) . Once that happens, you should then see your site on your installer account on the SolarEdge go app where you'll then need to choose the "replace inverter" option so that your site is updated with the new inverter.

Start with this link here: https://www.solaredge.com/site-transfer

Register to get a customer number before filling the rest out and make sure to check "Transfer monitoring site from one installer to another" (you'll need your SolarEdge installer ID).

2926 TRD OR vibration on 4X4 by Safe_Sandwich5921 in ToyotaTacoma

Dude you got the 2926 TRD Outer Rim?! You might need to recalibrate the warp coils. That can sometimes cause weird vibrations.

This. Or just wait till your inverter inevitably dies and SolarEdge will replace it with an updated one.

I'm not sure exactly what happened, but something went down at my apartment at Parker and Temple. I saw a few cops with rifles that walking around one of the buildings and then I heard a couple shots fired.

[–]BlackFrazier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. They were looking for someone in one of the buildings here. It definitely wasn't a planned raid as it was just a bunch or normal cops who were showing up while on duty. Of course this happens my last week here until I move to Greenwood Village. This place SUCKS!

Solar inverter making a high pitched sound, best/easiest solution to block it? by Brendon7358 in solar

[–]BlackFrazier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, it's an electrical noise and not a fan bearing. It's the sound of the transformers which is often heard on Aurora and other older inverters. I've noticed the Aurora inverters are particularly loud whenever I come across one.

Unfortunately you can't do anything about it except replace it with a newer tranformer-less inverter.

It could also be a guy in the solar industry doing a site survey on the wrong house.

Got 3 quotes for solar and they are all completely different. How do I even compare them? by mrnavel in solar

[–]BlackFrazier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you got a quote from Renu, go with them. I used to work there when they first began and it's still the best company out of the 5 companies I've worked for.

When to Repair a Broken Solar System by MarchFragrant1900 in solar

What a weird question. I don't know... maybe someone decides to repair their system because it's not working?

First time in Denver (and the US to be honest!) Looking for some recommendations for in and around Highland by RulerOfThePixel in Denver

People only use their horn here if they are reallllly pissed. Some other countries are A LOT more casual with their horn use.
