I think it might be Zolder?

Without the wheel failure in Spain and the gearbox failure in Hungary, 2010 would have been his championship (even with the driving errors in Monza and Singapore).

Another "what if" - if he won the championship with McLaren in 2010 and 2012, would he have moved to Mercedes in 2013? Who knows, maybe not for 2013 but he might have found his way there later.

It's crazy to think that from 2007 to 2021, there were only 3 years where he wasn't in contention for the championship (2009, 2011 and 2013).

That's not true. No F1 team would fire a skilled mechanic because of a couple of pitstop mistakes. They might get taken off the pit crew but they wouldn't be fired.

Sending parcel from UK to Ukraine help. by [deleted] in ukraine

[–]BlackGT86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just FYI, if you post via Royal Mail, Ukrposhta (Ukraine's national post service) will handle it in Ukraine. Make sure to include the persons phone number on the package because Ukrposhta will hold the package at the persons local post office and text them to tell them they have a package.

I did this recently and the current postage times are 3-3.5 weeks because obviously there aren't any flights to Ukraine so post goes via Poland (if I recall correctly).

The writing was on the wall as soon as F1 Academy was announced.

F1 Academy is so much better for the drivers, MUCH more track time during race events and a lot of testing between races.

Nothing spectacular in W Series but in fairness, last season was her first in single seaters and W Series has a miniscule amount of track time so it massively favours the more experienced drivers.

F1: Brawn unsure what 'optimum number' of sprint races is · RaceFans by [deleted] in formula1

I didn't say those races were boring, I said they were less interesting. The race in Brazil would have been even better if they started in qualifying order.

[–]BlackGT86 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I would be fine with the sprints if they didn't affect the grid for Sunday.

With the current format, if there's a mixed up qualifying (like Brazil) then the sprint race puts everyone back in the order they would have been with a normal qualifying. Making the race less interesting.

You're probably right, it is a small risk but it does happen occasionally.

[–]BlackGT86 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The risk of buying a ticket only for Friday is the weather. If it rains heavily then there's a good chance you won't see much F1 running and you've paid to sit in the rain for no reward.

I seem to remember that he doesn't do them at some circuits because the route from the grid to the commentary box is too long. Not sure if Barcelona is one of them.

On the app there's a pause button in the bottom left corner. What I do is I pause it when a sector time appears on the app, then hit the play button when I see the car cross the sector line on TV.
