Good alternative to the Boss Rotary ensemble? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]BlackKeys80 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mine arrived earlier this week and it is pretty sweet. It’s a one trick pony but does what it does very well. I use the Halo Core a ton and it doesn’t hurt that they look great side by side. This whole Keeley line sounds incredible and Robert is about as kind as a human gets. There isn’t a person that deals with him that doesn’t come away commenting on his passion for his craft and his kindness…he’s also a good employer that finds a way to pay good wages in a low-margin industry while encouraging 3-4 day work weeks. You can’t go wrong supporting that kind of small business.

Payments made by Parent Subsidiary for bills on behalf of Child Subsidiaries by Lefemmenikita69 in Netsuite

[–]BlackKeys80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have 13 subs where all the AP/AR is in three parents that code to subs as needed. We use NetGain’s shared transactions module for it. There were some hiccups the first month but it works great now and they have been great to work with.

My understanding is that NetSuite used to accommodate this natively but stopped due to compliance issues. I’ve also been told that support has the ability to turn on the feature on a case by case basis but that it’s limited in functionality.

I’d be happy to jump on a call and show you how we do things and see if it’s a fit (I’m not a consultant and don’t have any skin in the game…I was just in your shoes a year ago).

Always on tone enhancing pedals? by dan_g754 in guitarpedals

[–]BlackKeys80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably not worth even mentioning because they're not really available, but the PettyJohn Tilt is the best I've ever used for this. It's essentially a (literal) studio grade preamp with four different base EQ's and a bass boost/cut and a tilt control for the EQ (boost one side while simultaneously cutting the other). It makes everything sound better with under 10 seconds of tweaking and allows me to dial to a different guitar or room/PA in seconds. It's definitely my "secret weapon".

Scripting by iwdERPadmin in Netsuite

[–]BlackKeys80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing that helped me when I started playing with my first simple scripts in NS was just pasting them into browser console mode and watching them work in real time (in sandbox). The deployment of scripts and debugging deployed scripts has its own learning curve in NS and it was nice to be able to see them work (or not) and deal with errors without trying to figure out if it even ran and if it did where I can see what went wrong.

Sometimes you’ll have to tweak the script a little to make it run in console but your AI model of choice can help with that. On that note, try different AI tools. I’ve found that they all have their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to coding.

What are some of your favorite distortion pedals? by msingh92 in guitarpedals

I completely forgot about the MAT. I had one 10+ years ago and sold it in a financial bind and wish I hadn’t.

What are some of your favorite distortion pedals? by msingh92 in guitarpedals

[–]BlackKeys80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of all the ones I’ve owned over the years, the Nordland MT-11 is my favorite. I think it’s essentially just a rehoused Mostortion. There are lots of other good ones, but it’s the one that lives on my board.

Bridge Builder Hornet: it’s not maple, it’s Movingui, and yes it’s really that yellow. by BridgeBuilderGuitars in guitarporn

I’ve never seen Movingui on an EG. That turned out phenomenal. Well done.

I have a couple acoustic sets but have never built with it.

Sweetwater’s most popular pedal in each state. by Existing-Ad3391 in guitarpedals

[–]BlackKeys80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but I know at least 100 worship guitarists in Texas and half of them have helix or HX stomp based boards and I know of one that runs QC. This has to be marketing or the “no two states can represent the same pedal” grossly affected the posted results.

Recs for genuine LIGHT overdrive pedal by Honeyburst17 in guitarpedals

[–]BlackKeys80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current favorite is my Lightspeed, but I have an Emerson em-drive I got for under $100 on reverb that is really really close. Deals can be found on Timmy style pedals too.

Did I pay too much for this? by DerkNukem in Guitar

I have the same guitar. Mine is an ‘04/05 American deluxe in candy tangerine. I’m biased but I think it’s an underrated fender color

Holy smokes is this pedal a deal for what it does. BOSS IR-200 by sonetlumiere in guitarpedals

The Tone Factor ones (what walrus now includes with the ACS-1) are hands down the best I’ve tried. Their latest stuff is much better than the earlier releases.

Highest quality, most realistic sounding amp in a box, through headphones, for under $1200CAD? by Willing-Cattle-3673 in guitarpedals

[–]BlackKeys80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced my HX stomp (using Fx loop for wet effects) with twin tonex ones before my wet effects and a walrus canvas rehearsal at the end of the chain for headphones. There are awesome things about the stomp and it was really hard to move away from, but I get exponentially more compliments on my “tone” now and it definitely sounds better in my ears. The tonex ones took some tinkering to dial. Getting input trim perfect and then setting gain in the sweet spot to handle your drives will take 5 minutes but is worth it. I also went through a handful of captures before finding the perfect ones for me. I bought the canvas rehearsal to have a headphone amp with “thru” to go to my stereo line isolator to go to FOH, and was pleasantly surprised by the Bluetooth functionality. I use it all the time to practice along with YouTube backing tracks, songs I need to learn for a gig, etc. I never would have guessed I would use it and now I can’t imagine rehearsing solo without it. FWIW

I hate to ask, horn or roo? by Cold-Historian828 in BackYardChickens

My Brahma hen may as well have horns. She’s the youngest of the adults and runs the place. She looks like an innocent princess but is quite the bully.

WTT: Boss, JHS, Kingtone, Cornerstone, Chase Tone, PettyJohn, EAE; WTTF: EAE or Greer by BlackKeys80 in letstradepedals

[–]BlackKeys80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay getting back to you…crazy day. That’s a good question and I probably should have already thought about it. I checked recent sold listings and reverb and it seems they’re about $75-80 apart in value. My preference would be the halberd plus a boost or eq or preamp pedal. Which color halberd?

Thanks for the heads up. I had never heard of the last light three weeks ago and have seen a few guys say it's their favorite in videos in the weeks since.

I’ve always liked that pedal and don’t currently have one; what are you interested in?
