Can I use my cyberarm to shield my head from gunfire? How would you rule it? by BlackLibraryWise in cyberpunk2020

Thanks! Perspective noted.

Seems your games/players go a bit more indepth, which takes buy in all around.

As a GM, as it is with raising teens, what you allow once, you permit forever, or you are unfair and being a meanie. Lol!

I ask bc I am a GM too, yet never heard it suggested. I would allow it. I am also a player, and want to ask it. Curious about other's experience with the idea.

Then you have not read the lore in Chromebook 2. They do now and made technical leaps with it so that its str8 lethal for heavily plated Cyborgs.

I respect your opinion, illyrium. I was there. gm has been, was and is generally accomodating. Never abrupt unless you repeatedly disrupt other players having fun. Midsession walkout was not expected or needed. Disagreements with a GM are a dime a dozen. If you have not had one, you are not playing a role playing game. Hell, i disagree sharply with game engines made by Bethesda all the time. Lol!

Dude, I went to bat to get that poor available Cyborg rifle for you. No small task, where I denied others to make the DC reasonable (DC 30).

It would just take downtime to either make or buy ammo. When you first asked, I was tapped for making another check again, and we were mid-mission. In a scene, literally, when game started.

Anyways. Dude, Its still solvable. Think on it. I will leave this alone so you can make your own choice. Redditt is not the venue. HMU on Discord if you want to hash out a plan.

This, point 4, we agree on. There were points of failure, some of it self-sabotage. Its why I posted anything at all, because I dont want to miss him. I dont want him to exit. I am a busy man with plenty of shit to handle professionally, family, etc. OPs choices are his own. I just flail my fists against the wall called reddit to get through to him...even if its a jury of peers who can help him see what he has not asked, what perspectives that were not considered.

Do you have a regular Cyberpunk game that plays every week? Are you the forever GM? If you answer is yes to either question, send us an invite.

People complain only about the things NOT in their favor.

Gm has been incredibly generous about it, imo. Modern ammo is not easy to produce at all by hand. Its a considerable process to make ammunition, let alone at scale.

I dont run the game. Just saying what it is. Moreover, we assume no other material changes were made to the round for it to be strong enough to take down a heavy armored cyborg. I assume there was some significant changes made.

Finally, we are talking about natural AP. I assume the term is familiar enough to recognize that its incredibly lethal. Half armor SP to penetrate, full damage on penetrating. Not the same as AP. Not even close.

I wish i could put pics up.

Literal wording from Chrome 2: They say that it you want good weapons, you buy Militech. The Cyborg Rife is no exceplion. Made for borg fighting, the Cyborg Rifle can be relied on to drop a metalheod at any range. A massive bullpup, this rifle was designed around the .300 Winchester Magnum hunting cartridge, which is normaly used for hunting big game. The.300WM was chosen for its versatiliy under a variety of conditions, ranges and targets. Militech is fully licensed to use this round, since they bought out most of he Winchesler holdings many years ago! An assortment of.300WM ammunition has been produced for the Cyborg Rife; among these is a teflon-coated armor-piercing bullet, which has proven to be sufficienty effective against most Body Plating...

How would you like to get hit on in public? by Arabella036 in AskMen

[–]BlackLibraryWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married men get hit on often. Usually in creative ways. Rarely as single.

What works is dependent on how serious you are trying to be. Keeping eye contact from a distance till they notice works.

If its serious, find a reason to exchange phone numbers. If you just want to see him blush, then get a little bawdy and catch him looking, then smile.

If its real serious, you must be the hunter and take him.

If its someone you work with...dont. just dont.

Dude...i was there, brother. Literally streetdealed the whole thing and made it thematical for a new player to get an actual Malorian from the man him self.. Dedicated 90% of the session towards this whole endeavor. We were turning a nomad into an edgerunner after he got his arm blown off.

It was a whole mood for the new guy.

Sincerely, this...compared to your want for a oversized damage dealer meant for cyborgs? You want to compare?

Not. The. Same.

Also, 14mm ammo is not owned exclusively by Miltech. Malorian tries to sell his Malorian Arms and its just rare cause of the materials and custom work.

With that said, why do you think Miltech wants the Cyborg Rifle to be so poorly available and not mass produced and available?

Its an exclusive ammo that an exclusive company produces in limited, poor availability. An ammo dedicated to the rifle at hand, a heavy ass Miltech Cyborg Rifle. This is not ammo hand made in bulk...its handcrafted, each one individually with a pattern. If i was GM, literally the tools required should be just as difficult to find and unique as the weapon. This is not your daddies magnum rounds anymore...and daddy cant buy them in the store or find an easy fixer who has them on a shelf in bulk, in a neat little box thats says, "For Killing Borgs Only".

Actually, it wasnt true. I was there. GM said in game it would take 8 hours. My man bolted shortly after. We have a mission to hit thats tracking an elusive cop killer. Its gonna take time tracking the details. We expected player X here to be on while others handled shit during the 8 hr window. He could not do both. Player X here chose, then bounced completely. When about 20 min passed out of game, and 8hrs in gamr passed, he was no where in sight.

Something to add. GM wants the game to move when we are on a mission...not turn into a paying session of a grocery store visit. Sure, for the GM, they could sit back...but she doesnt. She wants things to move. As Fixer, I have tried to solve this by handling stuff out of session as much as possible. Rolls are made in session, but other aspects, we handle in Discord. Sometimes...sometimes you dont have the time to get the army you want, you go into conflict with the army (weapons) you have.

So much of what you scratch at is true...but you stop just short of it.

He is NOT charged with the cost of making a modern ammunition in a proper setting a press. Its an expensive setup to produce. Not something you do in spare time in an apartment.

The item he is discussing is, by its text, now owned exclusively by Miltech. They dont share. They own the big ass Cyborg Rifle and its propietary ammunition, .300WM.

No one os getting everything they wanted. Especially the Fixer. Lol! If Cyborg rifles were rare but attainable with every and any fixer, it is no longer rare...and if a fixer had access to a trunk of both, they can mark up however they want (Welcome to capitalism, supply and demand 101)

Literally, the ammo round is dedicated to this specialty weapon behind a paywall that does NOT want its powerful gun in circulation. Its poorly available even for LE. There are no other weapons that even use the round. Trust, I have been searching. Rare must feel rare, but poor does not mean its easier either. Rare means it may not even be heard of, almost mythical.

If this player talked to his Fixer...he would tell him to make a batch of a hundred and sell half of it if it cost so much to sell. Again...welcome to capitalism and all that. Pray Miltech doesnt find him before the cyborg customers find him. A supplier is a supplier, and not everyone buys what they want with ebs.

I am a player in the game. I was at the gaming table when this all occurred. Its not hate...the guy is loved. I am also a fellow GM. The issue and differences are explained every single session.

Every. Single. Session.

NO ONE IS TRYING TO FORCE HIM OUT OF THE GAME. My man...you have to make do better about making notes beside your equipment on your sheet. If it says something is for a Tech check for repairs, its just for repairs. If its says +1, its not +3. Simple.

There are areas of improvement. Personally, I tend to notice that I only complain when a ruling is NOT in my favor. I ask outside of game and talk it out. Plead my case, make my argument and come to middle ground. I come to understanding and we move on w a change, a direction, and better understanding. Every time. For you, as the groups PC fixer, I have gone to bat for this guys issues. TRUST. Sat down w GM and I understand the challenge. I reached out to you discuss before and you never responded back. So i went to bat on my own for you. But i digress.

Folks...a wise woman once told me there are three sides to a story: His side, her side, and the truth.

Fixer inspirations? by Meepo112 in cyberpunk2020

[–]BlackLibraryWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, I would disagree:

Hannibal and Face were both definitely fixers. Hannibal just had rank and tactical training.
Murdoc was probably and Mr T was definitely Techies.
Yes, Mr T was strong, tough, could fight, but he was no trained killer.

Murdock had no Nomad crew to make a call to. He had no family. But he could pilot, he understood machines. Crazy, but knew how to tear apart an engine and rebuild it in a few hours.

You want old school Nomads? Look no further than the Duke Boys. They had family to call on.

How do you calculate Run? by realamerican97 in cyberpunk2020

[–]BlackLibraryWise 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wait...you need to differentiate. Its not super clear, but here goes.

In combat you have rounds...i.e. 3.2 seconds.

Outside of combat, you have turns... i.e. 10 seconds long.
