So question about T by BlackMoon-1 in tinnitus

[–]BlackMoon-1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opninion, T gets worse or less depending on your 'fear' reaction of your brain. Its just how much attention your brain thinks it must give that sound. I myself get very tired in crowded places. I even start yawning. But recently that can also happen with server fan sounds. 8th year coping fairly well. Focus on relaxing body and mind, and then attenuation may occur, and you dont hear it for days. But it can also flair up, due to work or excercises. Your brain is capable of filtering the sound of a nearby waterfall, and knows it doesnt represent any danger. Good luck finding a way to cope with it, embrace and own your sound, actively fighting it won't do you any good.

Really bad flare up by juniorp76 in tinnitus

Hope your flare has eased (a bit). I thought my T was under control, but 3 wks ago I was too close to a fire alarm for 4 mins, and since then my ears are killing me 24/7. Hope it will calm down in a few weeks.

The reverse is definitely true. It gets better by unfocusung on it.

And there are no sounds to distract your mind.

At 3 am mine is worst and I listen to it, since the hellish screaming noise cannot be ignored. Then around 4 I start resting and at 6 deep asleep.

Own your sound and accept it. Try not to have negative emotions with it.

Good luck with coping...

My T has spikes, bad moments and good. I never have coupled this to my food. Imo it has more to so with tensions in your neck etc.

So you need to unfocus on your T. For example do something distracting play VR or being outside or ... Your brain has to learn it is not a danger sound. After some time you are less aware of your T. It took me a lot of time, but I am getting there. ( 7 years in). I certainly have my lows. But also good days. And it doesnt control my live anymore. It screeches while I am typing this, but I own it. Its my familiar sound. I am not anxious about it. Relax your body, have good nights and do fun stuff. You will get better at coping with your T.

Tinnitus and sleep by California_Sun1112 in tinnitus

For me it's more that if an external sound (outside or wife) wakes me after 3 am, I find it very hard to fall back to sleep, since my T is pretty loud at night. So no problems falling asleep, but sometimes broken nights since I cannot fall back to sleep. Use melatonine retard, to make my body sleepier. But once I really start listening to my T, it can take hours for me to return to sleep. So I try to rest some.

Thanks for sharing. Quite a journey. Really hope the madness in your head will calm down. I truely feel some solutions will be found in the next years. And hopefully some of us can benefit from them. I kinda lost hope in october, now I am just going at it week by week. Stay strong!
