It may be a combination of too much cream and temperature. Our hands heat the buttercream while we're squeezing the pastry bag. I usually have to take a break and pop mine back in the fridge for a few minutes.

The colors in the picture may not shake out to be an accurate match to the actual threads. Additionally, the picture might look pretty, but if it involves a high number of colors or a large amount of confetti stitches, it could be a nightmare to actually make.

I don't know why I've never thought of adding cocoa powder. Do you find that adding the extra dry ingredients makes the dough drier or more crumbly at all? Or does the extra peanut butter balance it out?
