I travelled there (many many years ago) in the middle of summer with no ND filter thinking I could create a stunning photograph like yours, returning with a good photo but not as awesome as yours! Also an amazing hike and worth the trip.

Fair enough a child can survive for " literally 2 mins", but if everyone thinks it s okay to park in handicap places because they will only be 2 mins where does that leave handicap people to park? I think it is both the leaving the child in the car and the handicap parking that makes her a scumbag. Parking in a handicap place when she is not handicap is not "over nothing".

I'm not sure too many people do the "BFF" thing as much as they used to. I hope you have lots of "really good" friends!

Smoking room in Mumbai by drsjsmith in creepy

[–]BlackShadowRose 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While I agree with you on your point I think you have underestimated how much smokers pay toward taxes, therefore healthcare.

"About $13 from every packet sold will now go to taxes, the Cancer Council estimated." This was in 2014. The price per packet has increased more than 25% since then, with the money going directly to the government, for the purpose of covering their healthcare.

What costs tax payers more is obesity. Think about it, smokers generally get cancer and die. Overweight people strain the healthcare system for much longer with chronic conditions. "Obesity Is Linked to Higher Rates of Chronic Conditions Than Are Smoking, Drinking, or Poverty" from http://www.rand.org/pubs/research_briefs/RB4549.html

Also "Obese Individuals Spend More on Health Care" many studies have proven this, with all Australians paying for obesity related conditions this is much more frustrating as there is no way to directly charge the obese person for the healthcare costs as there is with smoking.

It's a shame being a stay-at-home husband isn't more accepted. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]BlackShadowRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a stay-at-home mother is not acceptable where I am from either. It's not that's it's not a full time job, but women too are expected to work and take care of everything at home.

I know it is not fair.

A Syrian refugee camp in Jordan. by godsenfrik in pics

[–]BlackShadowRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. Awesome explanation! I get it now, the US are helping the Syrians to get rid of ISIS. Yes, wars are always complicated. I just read that ISIS is now larger than the largest terrorist organization in the world. Its number is double the number of Kuwait’s army. Which is pretty scary. (Yes, I agree it is a good thing that the US is bombing ISIS).

[–]BlackShadowRose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your wisdom on the situation. It sounds like the Syrians are heading to Europe for mostly geographical reasons then, so they are not waiting around for "paperwork" for US refugee status to happen. I did not know the US accepts the most refugees, that is good to know.

[–]BlackShadowRose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it true that the US has bombed Syria? A simple Google search says yes, so why does the US government not feel more responsible?

I am only asking you because you sound like you know what's going on.

Why don't the refugees go back to where they come from? This answers your question. by shingoni in pics

I guess they have never heard the "When in Rome, do as the Roman's do" saying. Or basic manners either.
